Post match: Brentford v Liverpool (EPL 25/10/25 8pm)

He convinced him, but Wirtz was identified by Edwards and Hughes… my humble opinion, sir…

he is not like that though. edwards and hughes have a vision and formula for the lfc they want to see. its offensive minded like all klopp teams. this is just not it… its almost like there is no plan

if i hear slot mention set pieces one more time, I SWEAR, FUCK!!

i did

He is obviously an important voice in those discussions, but Hughes and Edwards run the football strategy. Nobody is saying that Slot doesn’t have a say, but he is not in a position where he is the one in charge of recruitment (I doubt many ‘managers’ are these days).

Curious as to how many league losses in a row would it take before Slots credit for winning the league last season runs out?

Regards Ibou, if I had a suspicious mind I would think he is just treading water until the seasons end. In his case, it makes me wonder whether it is the RM stuff, or being a WC season, there is some sort of subliminal message of exertion being bedfellow to injury, is being passed about constantly, in that thing between his ears. Knowing there is no serious challenger for his position, will certainly allow this dogshit attitude to fester.
From a guy that has played so well in the past, to consistently spiral into putting out poor performance after poor performance…
Really disappointed in him at the moment… He is doing fuck-all to help with our situation

what @Mascot just said. adding to it. top clubs are now run by philosophies and not by managers. A club decides on a way of playing and recruits according to that way. That is one of the reasons why slot stood out, because his playing style was very close to Klopp’s (Slot even says this), and why Amorim was not an option because LFC did not want to change an entirely successful playing philosophy. This is also documented

isak, ekitike and wirtz are fast flowing football type of players. I am not sure if a slow control style of football works for them

I didn’t

He mostly did play the players from last season in the last league games and we lost!!!

It’s not about loyalty; it’s about trust. A title winning manager earns trust and deserves good faith, at least for a bit.

That’s not how football works, though

Ranieri getting sacked is one of the stupidest decisions ever made by a PL club.

Konate couldn’t run back to at least impede Schade after 45 minutes. Van Dijk flailing limbs around, giving up one penalty, coming close to committing another one and getting demolished by Jensen towards the end with astonishing ease. Ekitike spent the entire game being manhandled. As a team, we lost almost every 50-50 challenge and every second ball. The only players who came out with any credit were Szoboszlai, who is a specimen, and Jones who became another enty to the expanding list of injuries.

This isn’t fixable by dropping Salah or any other player. the entire team is unfit to perform both physically and mentally and that’s 100% on Slot. It’s clear that there are now genuine concerns about him. The fact that the performances have been steadily deteriorating since the second half of the previous season is hardly encouraging.

Slot: “Teams have a certain playing style against us, which is a very good strategy to play against us. And we have not found an answer yet."

well fuckin duh!!

That’s so true. We were weak going into most challenges. Brentford were well up for it, right from the kick off. We were slow and the attitude seemed to be that we only had to turn up, to win the game.

If we end up sacking a manager who won the title a few months ago, because of a bad run of form, this isn’t the LFC I started supporting when I was eight years old.
