Remember when VAR was sold to the world as the tech that would stop the arguments??

Feck me…

Of course 2 wrongs don’t make a right. But the first wrong was way way more wrong than the peno vs Brighton. This is what is making people furious. The fact with VAR they could miss that first wrong but applied some eagle eye check on the second? How is that possible? And seeing that the first wrong was sooo bad, the Pickford should have got a retrospective red card, (even though that wouldn’t have helped LiVARpool) if they are soooo interested in getting the decisions right.

Nobody chuck away VAR. Just recognise it’s limitations and use it accordingly. No need for such extremes.

Recap:

“So selfish may not have been the right word, but there’s a lot of other selfish managers I will name on another day but not on a day where I lost again this time to WBA and I respect all these selfish managers immensely and I don’t want to dig this hole deeper. Hold my shovel.”

First of all, nobody is working in millimetres. They are working in pixels. Choose the frame where the ball left the foot. Then choose the pixels on the synchronised frame that represents the point of the last defender closest to goal, then the point of the receiving attacker closest to. This isn’t nitpicking, but making the point that it’s not anyone’s responsibility to get decisions down the millimeter, but down to the closest pixel.

As for the frame rate debate, I retract my statement. Improving the framerate beyond 50fps would provide more accurate decisions.

Did the FIFA/ UEFA/ PL ever promise that Offside VAR was perfect? If it’s not perfect, is that a reason to remove it? isn’t the quality of this technology going to improve and evolve the more we use it? Why can’t we accept the results of a system we know has limitations but is being used consistently across the league? Whether Salah was onside or offside is not the question that can ever be answered, but whether the current technology used to interpret it deemed he was.

Just saw the last pen in real time again on MOTD…

Christ Almighty…he must have a stopped for a cuppa before going down after being kicked, it took him that long…

Sigh…

There is no more benefit of doubt to the attacking side in potential offside situations. That rule is long gone. Instead the benefit of doubt is given to the fuckwits in the VAR room to draw and move whatever lines they want on the screen until they get the decision to suit their agenda.

Ref standing 10 yards away from the ‘pen’ in perfect view deemed play on then shat himself at the whim of the cunts in control room, he can fuck right off as well. VAR has only amplified just how much of a joke PL officiating actually is.

Glad to see we’ve exposed that yet again the rules have been over complicated to the point where they no longer work.

Great job.

I cant have this anymore, ive completely lost any enjoyment watching the games now.

VAR has destroyed the game, cant celebrate any goals anymore just waiting for them to be chalked off. There is absolutely nothing in the contact between Robbo and Welbeck its two players swinging at a loose ball and yet its a foul and penalty deciding the game.

I cant have it anymore I pay a subscription monthly to get up alot of times in the middle of the night to be served up bullshit like this. I dont enjoy the games I end up angry after 90 mins of bullshit, had enough.

Im thinking of forming a VAR support group…

Exactly. Did they freeze the frame when the boot first contacts the ball or when the ball leaves the boot. That millimetres difference right there.

It was a whole country vote. The whole country voted to leave and we have left.
Its got nothing to do with football or LFC.

Err actually not to be pedantic but the whole country didn’t vote in favour of leaving. A slight majority did.

Just want to say I think Mascot is talking a lot of sense on the VAR application.

Watching it live I thought Mane scored, but as soon as I saw the replay it was clear he was offside, so no hard feelings. Goal chalked off.

When Mo’s was ruled off, it was massively more unsatisfactory. All the discussion about lines, frame rates, gauging exactly when the ball left the foot of the pass, etc. has been fascinating, and just illustrates how ridiculous the whole thing has become, as VAR has taken us down a rabbit hole.

Rule out obvious stuff that may have been missed. Eyeball is sufficient in reviewing the video. Once you get the etch-a-sketch out (showing my age there) it becomes ridiculous. They are straining out a gnat while swallowing the camel whole.
