Post Match: Brighton v Liverpool (EPL 28/11/20 12.30pm)

Now we have been adjusted to this VAR line for offsides, its made me realise, a line isnt even the accurate unit of measure, it should be an arc!! Because even though you are past the defender, marginally, the distance to goal is greater than if you are closer to the centre line of the pitch. Its all utter shite. We believed in a ‘line’ for offside for years and it was never even accurate.

Absolutely fuming about hat happened today.

  • Salah’s goal is completely regular. He’s on the same line than the last defender, and it needed some VAR photoshop cheating to take that away from us.

  • The second disallowed goal is ok. Mané is offside and the linesman should have seen it in the first place.

  • The last incident is not a foul, never. Robbo clears the ball and Wellbeck puts his foot in-between. What could he have done to avoid this? The ref called it right, and the VAR guy (who was the fucker this time?) was totally wrong to call this as a foul.

If you add in the stupid hands rule, the FA and the PL have really done their best to bend the game towards something unrecognisable at this point. Utterly fed up with this.

Otherwise, regarding, the game, our lads did what they do: dig in deep despite of all the injury shit going on, and won the game with a wonderful moment from Diogo. But wait, an idiot in the VAR seat decided to take two points away from them despite of them controlling the game utterly at this point.

Ok, let’s take it on the chin and move on. Ajax next, with the obligation not to lose. With Millie out for a few weeks now, we look more and more down to the bones. Klopp will soon have to start 16-17 years old youngsters if this goes on. Thank God for Hendo being back at least.

What a well-taken goal by Diogo! That’s what I’ll remember if anything about today’s game. Is that his first Premier League away goal for us?

To be fair aren’t perfectly straight lines merely mathematical abstractions? Don’t get mad at me. Them’s nature’s rules.

Not sure Klopp is going to score too many points punching down to Wilder like that, regardless of what Wilder has said.

Taking account the full distance of the Universe you mean, and that any straight line ultimately returns back to itself behind the starting point? No, the pitch is much smaller, man!

Have you seen the video of the business consultation over creating 7 perpendicular transparent red lines?

I’m more happier with klopp actually not taking the bullshit he’s offered than just staying silent

Indeed. I am concerned that the Boss no longer sees Premier League is the pinnacle brand of football because of its lack of caring of its players, the vulture nature of the English media, and extremely low standard of refereeing. These are the type of things that could hasten his departure.

Let’s show him the NFL where they can’t figure out a catch any more.

He got into it with Kelly over this issue after our last game as well. Or rather, Klopp was making points about the general situation that need to be addressed, and then Kelly piped up to start defending BT and telling Klopp why he was wrong and things got increasingly testy from there. Putting Des Kelly out there again, clearly armed with pro-BT lines, seems like a purposeful attempt to goad Klopp into saying headline making comments.

Klopp is correct, but I think he needs to see the game being played here and tread carefully.

Yep. Leaders speak and leaders listen. Unfortunately there’s none of the latter type.

I’d just shove Ljinders on call for the game on Tuesday, it’s BT sport, if they want to be arseholes let them be.

I think I could have taken the draw with no injuries but with Milner now down it’s one in one out.

You better accept that this will not the year we will not win many prizes @Walshy07 . With the number of injuries we are having in key players, I will settle for winning the FA Cup and finish top 4 or one of the two. I see people saying "others will get injuries on their key players too, possible but except for City I have not seen many.

Or get @Scott.Jones to do it.

A big break on TV is the least he deserves.

If we are winning something, it definitely isn’t one of the league cups. God knows what team we would be putting in those games given the circumstances
