A very important 3 points. Truth is we were not at our best, but showed character and won.

Alisson was very, very good, I’d rate him 9 ot of 10.
Virgil and Robbo were solid, while Matip made several mistakes during the first 45 minutes /mainly with his passing/, but did well against the powerful Weghorst. Trent with an assist for Fab’s goal, but still a room for improvement.

In midfield we had our usual problems. Fabinho is our only world class midfielder /MoM today/ and he proved it this week /great against Leicester and today vs. Burnley/. Hendo’s form is a cause of concern, while Keita is too incosistent and unreliable, but was still better than Jordan today.
We need two quality midfielders during the summer and hopefully someone to challenge TAA and give him time to rest /someone like Tsimikas, but playing on the right side of the defence/.

Our three forwards had a relatively por game for their standarts. Yeah, we played in horrible conditions, but still it was against the worst team in the league /judging by the league table/ and during the first 45 minutes we let them create too many chances and only Becker saved us.
At least Tiago’s inclusion helped us settle the nerves and pass the ball better.

Four consecutive league wins is really good for the morale of the squad. $ity look untouchouble at the moment, but I don’t care, just win every match and see where it takes us.

Burnley might not have fouled today but the WWE type holds at Anfield in the early season aren’t forgotten.

Ironically the games in Burnley are generally less eventful than the home ones. But maybe that’s part of Burnley’s issue.

Only 9 points behind with a game in hand, it’s still on, goody, goody, goody …! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Both shadows of the players they were 2 years ago. As much as I love both of them and am eternally grateful for all they have done for our club, I think they’re both on borrowed time.

Couldn’t agree more. Think that Bobby has lost a yard and a half of pace. Henderson looks very tired.

Shit team that play shit football with a shit manager with shit weather conditions we went there and won so a big well done to Klopp and his team loved the way we controlled the second half. Onwards and upwards.

They certainly won’t be doing the Samba on those days :joy:  Can imagine them in their thermals and hot water bottles.

TBH, this season’s Burnley did not play the low block and the type of rough and hard tackles that we were familiar with for the past few years. Dyche actually appeared to get away from the “anti-football” style that we hated so much. The change in style does not appear to work out too well for them though.

For this match, my 3 picks are:

  1. Fab
  2. Thiago
  3. Ali (even though his stops were because of the stupid delayed offside)

I’m wondering if it’s something to do with VAR, stuff they could get away with they probably can’t now.

Probably the same with our offsides hopefully we keep getting home draws in the FA Cup then again if we beat Norwich we only need one more as I assume Wembley has it.

Yep penalty for me, how it wasn’t given who knows

3 points is about the only good thing that came out of that. The less said about the performance the better.
Burnley must be one of the most shit grounds to play football at ever.

Actually disagree with Bobby, when it was at his feet he did well, it’s when it left his feet i.e his passing that was woeful, the worse thing was he got into some great positions in the pocket, turned well, then gave it away.

Thought Klopp, got it wrong Sadio, had a very poor game as did Mo & Hendo, for me I was disappointed that he never gave Diaz a go, he was one of our better players against Leicester.

Most important though was the result, Ali & Fab were the standouts and Thiago coming on helped us control the game in the last 20 mins with no real scares

I think we’re pretty much saying the same thing. Poor passing more than anything.

One of my least favourite things about football these days is the linesman not flagging for clear offsides until that phase of play is complete.

Not only is it a collosal waste of time and puts players at unnecessary risk but the TV companies have taken to including them in the highlights, even if a goal isn’t scored. You get this false impression of a game as if one team was cutting the other open despite the fact the move either was flagged offside later on or most definitely would have been if VAR had looked.

Anyway, moan over. Fuck off Burnley, you won’t be missed when the now inevitable looking relegation comes

Totally agree, I think on my feed Robbie Savage was the commentator and on 3 occasions where their player was flagged offside, he kept saying they were unlucky as they looked onside when each time they were off, commentators atm are pretty shambolic

100% it’s blindingly obvious that the defending side isn’t getting an advantage in the vast majority of cases.

Horrible conditions against these thugs. Last thing we want is Diaz injured and loose him for the rest of the season.

Mo could have got injured, so could have VVD, our forward line were poor and I thought Diaz kept the ball better against Leicester than all the ones who were in front of him today.
