Alright, I don’t know your point?
Just say “our corners” instead of unneccessary embellishment. We’re describing football and attempting to complicate it beyond recognition.
Sorry, but its more of the terminology for the sake of it stuff that melts my head.
Again we outscore the opposition and preserve a clean sheet along with it. ![]()
Incorrect! It’s usual for him to be unusual.
But Burnley did have their corner that we needed to defend…So to differentiate it, I had to put “our corner offensively”.
Burnley’s corner would be their corner they are taking in our half of the pitch. Our corner would refer to the one’s we are taking.in their half of the pitch. Using our or Their should be enough to differentiate?
Beat me to that explanation thank you.
There you are.
Simple enough, Burnleys corner.
When I was in grad school there was a woman in my cohort who could not her get head around the airport…when I pick up my boyfriend I should pick him up at departures because we’re trying to leave the airport. This conversation feels like that.
13 corners and the only decent one was when Gakpo found Ibou.
Arteta would’ve had a field day. Maybe we can bring him in as our set piece coach when he inevitably gets the sack this season.
Probably just get their set piece coach, then again our guy has been there 5 minutes give him a chance.
Nope, I was addressing someone else about another point.
Your point about not needing another midfielder is also very questionable as detailed in a different post. If we hadn’t bought him we’d have been starting either Endo or Nyoni today.
We were awful today.
Slow and ponderous which is exactly what Burnley wanted.
We looked fairly clueless and got a huge slice of luck.
Its concerning that Salah hasnt done his usual of starting the season on fire and looks as slow as fuck at the moment along with poor decision making.
Kerkez is Moreno part II - completely thick footballer. It was right to hook him before he was sent off. Its Robbos shirt now to lose. Kerkez will not start in CL or Everton. He can have another go v Soton.
I know it will take Wirtz time but he was bought to open up defensive muck like Burnley but didnt make any impact at all…again. Yes its 4 games and yes its a new league but taking off a player you brought in to undo defences like that is a worry.
Finally, Konate - other teams are more than happy to let him have the ball as he does fuck all with it other than go sideways or backwards…slowly.
But after all that we deserved to win as we were the only team who wanted to win. The other team didnt want to lose.
They blocked 12 shots in the area.
Picking out Ibou after today seems very odd and agenda driven tbh. He won more or less everything there was to win, and didn’t give Foster a kick.
Teams are happy to let CB’s have the ball regardless of who they are, because there is no immediate danger.
That changing room looks like something out of the Liverpool Sunday League, back in the day.
I still don’t understand why we bought Wirtz. I don’t think he is a bad player I just think its a not needed addition extra options on the would have made sense.
If we have already seen the best of Wirtz in a Liverpool shirt, you may have a point.
Most reds can see his class, while trusting that more - probably much more - is to come.
We are very much a work in progress though, and the best thing about the season so far is four wins from four, plus the never-say-die attitude we have shown. The performance level needs to improve, we can all see that.
As for today, we kept probing away against a determined side whose main ambition was to keep us out. We got the deserved breakthrough at the very end.
Four wins is lovely. I think it will be disheartening for other hopeful teams to see us go WWWW without hitting the heights yet.
