Post match: Chelsea v Liverpool (EPL 2/1/22 4.30pm)

I am fucking repenting now, ok! Fuck, this is the classic case of " you don’t realise someone is important until they are gone".

I must have watched a completely different game.

I thought that was a cracking game and a credit to both sides. Thoroughly enjoyable.

In different circumstances that would be a great result too.

I was pissed off with how many times he was offside, his runs were and have been too early for quite a while

Genuinely wonder if he has covid. Was so so poor

In this game, Chelsea’s system didn’t allow TAA and Tsimi to go down the line. So agree that in this particular game, we needed ball players or those who could carry the ball - hence why Keita should’ve been on from the start.

rona didnt stop other teams from signing players… we needed a gina replacement at the very least

I’d agree it used yo be like that but last 12 months not anymore doesn’t impact games like he should.

We spent 36 million on a defender.

I thought Milly was our best midfielder today

we needed a gini replacement lol

Which is why I question our decision to be so predictable with that CB long ball to Sadio at kick-off.

Dirty teams prepare to get Sadio sent off every single time

It’s the injuries, they all pick up niggly muscle injuries. Be surprised if we’ve played the same midfield three for three games in a row since the year we won the league. Wijnaldum was the only one who never picked up injuries and he was liable to ghost games.

My take on Milner is he gives 100% every game unfortunately father time has impacted it our other midfielders some can be accused of not giving the 100%.

Trent and Tsimi can’t run with an opponent on their backs…why can’t the ref see it…it does rile me…

I thought Kovacic’s goal was a complete fluke, off balance and I thought mistimed but the result was unstoppable

Blame Klopp then.

I think Harvey Elliot would have been huge this season if he had been fit. A younger, more raw version of Bernardo Silva - not afraid to have the ball. Alas, we can’t be looking at what ifs now if we want silverware - we will need 1 good technical midfielder in there.

Other than that, on this game, I thought Kostas and Trent were industrious and did about as well as they could. Our defence looked scary at times with our high line - a second ball lost in midfield and one ball led to Pulisic getting behind for their 2nd goal. Forwards did what they needed to do: take their chances. We didn’t create a whole lot, which was mainly due to said midfield problems.

I just feel the same way I felt before the match. Deflated. The league frankly feels rigged how the ref and var calls favour City and disadvantage us (and to a lesser extent Chelsea). City with no covid cases or at least not a single major player in their squad getting it? Yeah right.

And yes the match. Well done CK, Sadio, Mo, Tsimi.

true story… i think hendo does too but is so severely limited technically that if he is struggling physically, his game goes to shit

I was livid/disgusted with VVD on their 2nd goal, he just ambled back rather than trying his upmost to get to Pulisic who then had all the time in the world
