He doesn’t have the balance between attacking and defending that Robbo does. Obviously he gives us plenty going forward but often does the basics of defending poorly. The second goal today he has all the time in the world to drop and cover/block the cross and simply doesn’t do it. It’s very poor play from a fullback at this level.
If you put your hand/arm out to direct a team mate as to where to put the ball for you to run onto it,could you potentially be making yourself offside if that hand/arm is beyond the oppositions last man?
liug bds jzxcvb nm;/'byfdyrsxc vbnk////, is the only sensible comment I have
EVEN JENAS KNOWS FFS!
Just to keep some perspective, Everton haven’t beaten us in the league for 10 years.
That is 20 games without a win, or the equivilent of half a season #Foreverinourshadow
The goals (that counted)
Table topping Everton celebrating to get an unjust draw against the mighty Liverpool. Tells you what you need to know about the level of each side. We are going to win the league, Everton won’t be in that race, but they do have a shot at top four.
As for the game, basically what everyone else said. Pickford should have been off for dangerous foul play on Van Dijk. He made a couple of good saves after that to keep them in it when he shouldn’t have been on the pitch. Henderson’s goal should have won it at the end but VAR ruining the spectacle. If, as Arminius said, they made the correct call based on the current offside rule, the whole thing is a bunch of balls and needs a rethink, as every tweak to the rule just makes it worse.
Richarlison is a proper snide git. Good player, but a proper snide git. Dirty and wasted a lot of time. As for Rodriguez he was peripheral and spent ages on the deck while Everton played on, then much to his chagrin we played on too once we won the ball back.
I’m gutted as that was unjust, but sometimes you get matches like it. I still think we will win the league and this campaign has only just begun. Thiago looks excellent to me.
Trent is getting a bit of stick for allowing the cross to come in for their equalizer. I’d like to take it back a bit earlier, when Mane’s unnecessary flick gave the ball away for Everton to break. It was sloppy and he didn’t take care of the ball there, which allowed Everton to break.
Table topping Everton celebrate an unjust draw against the mighty Liverpool. Tells us what they think of themselves.
Fuck off yourself.
Let’s not forget, that was the blueshite at their best today, plus they tried every dirty, cynical, Italian and South American trick they could think of. From feigning injury, waving imaginary cards to downright violence and they still couldn’t beat us.
We were the better team by a mile and the only reason we didn’t win was a combination of inept, corrupt officials and opposition who employ ale house tactics, which would’ve seen a few dismissals in Sunday League football.
Depends on the day, the color of the line, the straightness of the line, and the shifting of the lines (which, in turn, depends on the thickness of the turf).
Adrian didn’t do much wrong but the first goal is his fault. Ali just catches that. Adrian tries one for the camera and misses it. Its straight at him.
I’m not down about the performance today. Most pundits predicted a Bitter win. We were easily the better side and more like our old selves. Thiago is a serious addition to the engine room, what a player. Let’s see how the table looks after 10 games.
The big cloud on the horizon is the VVD injury and maybe a knock for Thiago too, both could have broken legs on another day.
Now this I just totally disagree. There’s absolutely no reason a keeper who knows is under pressure will do anything for the cameras. It’s a unnecessary questioning of his character in my opinion. He could probably have done better, but it’s not down to him wanting to show off or anything.
I agree. He should do better, but I don’t think he misses it by attempting to show off.
exactly this…that 2nd goal is all him. he has enough time to track their fb and make the tackle. i dont want to be overly critical as he is a fav of many here but he has been dire in defence and other teams have caught up to it. yes he contributes massively in attack but his first job is to defend and he jus doesn’t seem to bother
Sorry to be pessimistic but I think we may have lost Virgil for the season. Klopp isn’t happy, it looks like a possible ACL injury.
No doubt Everton will make Pickford their player of the season for that horrendous tackle.
Alisson plucks that bullet header out of the air like it’s nothing. Let’s not judge Adrian by Ali’s ridiculous ability. It’s not fair on his, and it’s not good for us.
VVD ACL??
Sources?
Ok maybe one for the cameras is harsh but he fucked up…again.
