Can Pickford’s assault on Virgil be looked at after the match as the Ref didn’t give a yellow? Could argue that he ‘missed’ it (even though VAR should have picked it up).
He misses because he has a bad reaction time, that is one of his problems.
We’ll see. Challenge was fucking awful, but his leg didn’t extend too much and he walked off barely limping. If it were a season ended, he doesn’t leave the pitch like that.
Probably. I’m amazed his and thiagos legs aren’t in 2 pieces
Struggling to find any enjoyment in watching football of late, and that absolute shit show from the officials and VAR has done nothing to help that.
My take on Adrian today is that he was OK and about what you would expect of a back up. He did not make a mistake for the header. It’s point blank at pace. The mistake was Fabinho not challenging, and letting Keane have his own way. Adrian reflexively puts his hands up but the ball is past him before he can do anything about it really.
Apart from that he also parried it away on a few occasions, when he might have caught one or two, but I took that as a goalie who recently made a blunder playing the percentages, and clearing his lines rather than risk spilling one in again.
He was OK today.
I really hope you’re right or we’ll have problems going forward.
Mate, could you slag of Adrian in every post you make? It’s just that I think nobody is quite sure what you think of him, and we’re all really interested in hearing again and again.
Again it’s not a fck up IMO as well. It’s something he should have done better for sure. But as @Mascot said we expecting Alisson levels from him isn’t possible. It is what it is.
Fck ups IMO are ones like giving the ball right to opposition.
I thought they were gonna erase these ridiculous decisions this season. Football is dead. For now.
I won’t blame solely VAR.
We were the better team, but still conceded stupid goals. Fabinho losing Keane for their first goal and Adrian’s poor handling. And then we are 2-1 up with 10 minutes left and where is TAA? Ha had to protect his zone and Gomez was in no man’s land. If that wa sLovren he would have been slaughtered. Positionally Joe Gomez is our weak link.
And last season we were on VAR’s good side /do you remember Wolves goal for example?/. We had enough chances to score /Man e and Jota missed a 100% chances 4-5 minutes befor the end of the game/.
And now about Everton - I had a big respect towards them, but it is gone. Every time they play us they try to injure our players deliberately. Absolutely shit players with shit tactics. Hopefully VvD won’t be missing for long, because our defence looked really shaky and every set piece and corner was a dangerous situation /back to 2016-2017 I guess/.
And the decision to have only 3 central defenders was absurd and our recruitment team failed. Matip is injury prone, Gomez is shaky nad really poor after the restart.
Robbo, Salah, Mane, Hendo, Fab and Tiago had a very good game. Matip was solid /after a long absence/. Trent is having a very poor start of the season, doesn’t do the basics of defending and offensively is nowhere near the standard he reached for the last 2 seasons.
And Firmino needs to be dropped. Jota is a very good player and at the moment I can’t see Bobby being even at 60% of his own self. Missing chances, passing is not accurate, only his pressing is there, but tha is not good enough.
Adrian is making me miss Mignolet. He does not instill confidence in the defence, vice versa he makes them feel unstable and concede too many goals.
Klopp must make tactical changes, VAR is not the main problem, we have conceded 13 goals in 5 matches and only against Chelsea we had a cleen sheet /and still they missed a penalty, playing with 10 men/. If we were solid defensively, we would still win the game /inspite of VAR/. Their second goal exposed the weak links in our formation. With 10 minutes to go, leading 2-1 our full back was nowhere to be seen, playing higher up the pitch as a winger and losing his man. Then comes Joe standing and leaving Robbo alone in the air against Calvert-Lewin.
hope u right mascot hope u right
can pickford get a retro?
Still lost for words. Football just isnt the same anymore.
Not waving a white flag or anything like that but the defence needs to be fixed immediately. Van Dijk or not.
No use to us. And will probably only benefit the bitters for him to miss games.
Robbed.
Adrian at fault for first goal.
Thiago was exceptional, superb.
Next.
A mention for Henderson, I thought he was outstanding today.
The Pickford challenge on VvD was in the opening minutes. THe ref bottled it. The ref then allowed challenges all through the first half with no card.
THis allowed the second half to have hefty challenges. It’s why Rodrigez could go in from behind on Mane just outside the penalty area to prevent a run on goal, and take a late yellow.
It’s why Richarlison could make an over the top challenge and still think he could get away with it by feigning injury himself. The ref has a duty of care, but his forgotten card trick in the first half just enabled the bitters to keep doing what they were doing.
A proper ref would have stamped out these things before the snide second half challeges were even made.
