Post Match: Everton v Liverpool (EPL 17/10/2020 12.30pm)

You could well be right there. Teams will exploit the oppositions weaknesses. Space behind the full backs (TAA in particular), Gomez being vulnerable in the air, runners in behind when we play a high line…those are ours IMO.
There was still lots of positives to be taken from that game today however, midfield looked much better with Thiago and Henderson back in, front 3 looked dangerous especially Mane.

That Richarlison is such a prick, he always feigns injury after he has blatantly fouled another player, such a disgrace. Also, it is obvious that James Rodrigue took the Master’s diving class from CR7, while at Madrid, went down whenever a Liverpool player even got close to him. Frustration abounds!

If the outcome of var reviews is completely random crap, why don’t we just go with the original randomly crappy decision and not waste time getting it wrong differently?

I thought the VAR rule was that if any part of the attacker’s body that can legitimately score a goal, is in line with a defender then he’s onside?

I find very difficult to explain referees decisions in this game. Awful. I think more awful tan our last match.
Sincerely, I found normally to protest against var decision and FA to have balls and correct the decision and the final score.
I know that will not happen… But… This is the right thing.
The second normal thing is to suspend this motherf…ord for that intervention against van Dijk, it’s criminal. Also for richarlisson.
Again,not gonna happen.

Strange, England is country of football… And still happen this.

BTW, let’s hope that those 2 points is our only loss after this match, because seems it could be worst with Thiago and vanDijk

PS. Let’s hope Ali will be back soon, cause… Adrian seems to feel too much pressure to be gk on this moment.

Honestly I’m still so f*cking angry. Their gameplan was to physically eliminate our players, and they were allowed to do so, well done. That irks me more than the last minute winner, and that irritates me a lot too. And I should be supposed to have sympathy for them? Fuck them, hope they go down and liquidate, scumbags.

Been reading this thread with all the people saying elbows and what not counts. So I went to look at the premier league website. Apparently, last season’s rules still stand, with the only changes being the way the lines are displayed to home viewers. Which means this part still stands:

The offside lines are drawn against the parts of the body of attacking and defending players that can be used to score goals. (These parts of the body are the same for all players, no matter their playing position)

The link is:

So, I don’t understand people saying elbow was offside. That wasn’t surely counted. Or I’m I just being thick? Maybe they’ll come out with an explanation to clear this up, about the crosshairs being counted from some other position.

Don’t like seeing ‘fans’ turning on our players. We aren’t Man City ffs! The refereeing was terrible. Should have been a man and two goals up after 12 mins. Worried about the injuries, but encouraged by the performance after the Villa debacle. Let’s get behind the team. We are Liverpool and there’s a reason we sing YNWA!

Is it fully inflated?

There’s no excuse for it not to be, given the amount of hot air he spouts.

It’s terrible, but let’s also not pretend that this was the sort of incident VAR was brought in to help with it. It wasnt. This is one that if the ref should be able to handle 100 times out of 100.

I orignally said elbow as a joke, but it appeared that was where they drew the line. In reality though they did draw the line from the point half way up his upper arm, the point at which the short sleeve stops, because that is this season a part of the body you can legally use.

Jürgen showed a lot of composure shaking hands with Ancelotti after. Lesson in there for @Scott.Jones.

The Athletic understands that it was checked for serious foul play but David Coote, the VAR, decided it wasn’t a red card. Wtf.

We’ve got history with that ref.

Klopp has a lot of respect for Ancelloti, and there’s no chance Ancelloti told them to put in red card challenges. Klopp will only have issue with the referees today.

Shocking we didn’t win today. Need to turn this around. Not a good start to the league or season. Already dropping five points. Add to that the possible injuries.

But where the shirt is as a result is considered, so it gets you to about the same absurd place. The old language about needing to be able to score with the offside bit for it to be called offside was what was taken out in the interpretations. So it was probably a mutually a shirt sleeve

Ok, I did some digging around and got this:

The bottom of the armpit is the ruling, not the bottom of the t-shirt sleeve or other such interpretations made by some broadcasters.

So they must be starting the crosshairs crap from guessing where Mane’s armpit is.
