I can blame him for the capitulation, although brain dead Konate started it. Slot should’ve known what to do at 2-0, even more so at 3-2. That is, keep the ball and shut the game down. But no, we carried on like it was a fucking basketball game.
Just throw five in midfield and we win the game.
I’d say this game sums up how I see this Liverpool team 25/26. We have a talent crop of players but no cohesion, no structure and on top of that we lack urgency and fight. I think it’s fair to say that individually our players are way better than Leeds but as
For how the team played I’d say they play just about as well as us. Sure we had some nice combinations but most of our chances came from individual brilliance while when Leeds attacked you could see the structure and what they were trying to achieve.
Therefore, I find a draw a fair result. I’d have felt hard done by if I were a Leeds supporter losing this game
Must admit I still hold a bit of resentment towards Slot for the way he gave up on Quansah immediately after getting here.
Unbeaten streak now up to three! One point gained on Arsenal!
you jus couldnt resist, could you… hahahahah

Nice work, closed the gap on the league leaders by a point ![]()
That was tongue in cheek. I always try to find the bright side but Slot must be on very thin ice by now. I am not in favor of sacking him until a better manager is available.
There are some mid-ranking managers like Glasner and Iraola, but they have question marks for me. Slot should stay in situ until it is someone clearly better. And if somehow we can turn it around, let’s see. But the more games that go by where we fail to do what we need to do, the less likely that seems, even to the optimists like me.
If a when we get a new manager, they will inherit a great squad and with just a couple of obvious tweaks, they can position this group to fight for the biggest prizes again, really quickly. It looks like a great opportunity for someone, if Slot is not going to keep it.
Leaving that aside, what did I make of the game today?
First half we showed some fight. Leeds were up for it but we matched that. Jones was doing well and we were tighter at the back and looked like we had something to build on for the second half.
2-0 up fairly quickly, so far so good. We were looking good. But then oh no! 2-1. 2-2. But yes, 3-2 up again. Close it out and say no more. But we could not do it. 3-3. Ugh. I think we are the second worst team in the Prem at defending set pieces.
We made mistakes. It happens, but we have made a habit of it.
We made subs, and they were designed to shore it up and keep the points, but we lost control after they came on.
We got the lead again late on through Dom, but then the mentality was not good enough to keep it.
I will never stop loving Liverpool, and I will never stop watching. But the long, long run of bad form, when compared to the players we have at our disposal, is infuriating.
While someone wears that red shirt as a player, they will have my support. And the same goes for the manager. Slot has my support and I am hoping he will find something to turn this around. I won’t stick the boot in on him, but obviously, the longer this slump goes on the less likely that becomes, and he must be on very thin ice.
Agree. Our better play has stemmed from variation in who gives width imo. The full backs are inverting less, thus allowing them to get to the byline at times.
The last three games, we have had better patterns of play. But the underlying issues are still present - an individual error and then a colllective team brian fart.
I was about to write something almost identical. Thanks for saving me the hassle. ![]()
Arne Slot:
“It’s not about me. It’s about us, it’s about the fans. The players have worked so hard and again to concede from a set-piece - the 10th or 11th this season. If you concede so many you cannot be higher up the table than we are."…Arne you say set piece one more time, I swear im gonna force you to grow that hair back
If we can get Frimpong fit (to give Slot RB options), then Gomez has got to come into the middle. We can’t keep playing Konate
Arne Slot:
“The only ones to blame is us. We concede these chances. We do so much to create."
Always two sides to each game eh… Leeds have had a good week

John K: All these posts about Liverpool throwing it away - How good were Leeds this week? In Farke we trust!
Allan: Obviously Leeds have found better form and seem to get their kick up the backside from doing it the hard way, coming from behind. Just what Farke and the team needs to help their confidence.
Carl: All the talk here is gonna be on Liverpool and Slot but let’s not forget how this Leeds team never give in and how Farke under immense pressure has managed to (at the moment) turn things around. Incredible week for us. MOT!!
After watching the penalty again, I just can’t believe what Konate did. There was absolutely no need to go to ground and he’s cost us the win.
About sums us up as succinctly as you can get.
We make hard work creating chances whilst gifting them to the opposition at the other end.
More than 60% of the goals we’ve conceded can be attributed directly to him
That refusal to take a corner with 7 minutes still left sums things up.
VVD had already caused Leeds problems at corners. Okay, if we don’t want to send the defenders up, we could have taken it short and then passed backwards if wanted to retain possession, rather than trying to keep it in the corner.
Slot emailing everyone on Monday morning with a message that 3 SOPs have been assigned for everyone for retraining.
TBH, I found this statement from Dom is very telling of the thought process of the current squad, unless I misunderstood his meaning. The match was no where over until the final whistle…so how could the player thought leading 2-0 away is “over”?
