Post Match: Leicester v Liverpool (EPL 13/2/21 12.30pm)

We’ve been on a hell of a ride over the last few years with this team. A step backwards can sometimes let you appreciate the good times even more so. Anyway, we’ve got a Champions league match coming up as well.

Take care buddy.

Shit VAR, Shit Refs, Shit injuries aside…we haven’t been anywhere near our best since the Covid restart imo.

We miss the fans…i know thats not really it, but to me we look better in front of a crowd. Maybe it’s a psychological thing with our lads.

Either that or we’re just fucking shite?

If Alisson gets upset and throws a strop after making two howlers on the bounce while still not even covering himself in glory the games before, maybe professional football isn’t for him. I’m sure he can take a week out without crying. Maybe after a month yes I’d agree with you but not one game.

Of course I don’t know Jones fitness stats or that to confirm why he comes off no one here does. I’ve viewing it from wow he’s playing well. Why’s he the first sub off, for someone like Oxlade who I’d do as good as on the pitch as him today. Maybe he’s unfit Curtis I don’t know but he definitely shouldn’t be taken off if he’s healthy.

Okay I mean Kelleher over Adrian for obvious reasons. I didn’t really see the bench options today. Just think Ali needs a game off.

For the goal I don’t know but I just feel it’s Ali’s fault more than Kabak. I can’t take screenshots but Kabak had his eyes on the ball, backpedaling. Which is what all cbs are entitled and supposed to do. Ali ran a good 20ms to get to that ball and reached it second after Kabak. Granted it’s their first time together so familiarity isn’t really a thing. I think if Ali doesn’t come out Kabak gets that initial foot on it which he did and clears it. Didn’t see the total need for Alisson to be honest.

Where’s Bruce Grobbelaar when you need him? To be clear, I want him for those voodoo stuffs only.

Well being top 3 goalkeeper in the world I’m quite confident in saying professional football is for him. Its not ice hockey where you play the more in form goalie, or change the keeper to get a reaction out of your team.

And when you are the manager of a club, and your players keep getting injuries every other day like we do, the management of the squad needs to make decisions based on the fitness data we have. Jones probably is in red zone with his suspectibility to get injured, and has been taken off after 75mins in the last two games. Which the sport scientists most likely have told Klopp is the maximum he can play without being in a serious risk for injury. He started today as Thiago hadn’t trained during the week, and klopp needed to have Hendo as a CB.

Correct me if I’m wrong here but what about the shirt sleeve on Leicester’s No. 4?

And you could be right with his knee as well

On the plus side, we were much the better team. The main problem was not scoring more than one, as we were well on top.

A dodgy VAR call changed the game. It wasn’t even a foul as Barnes kicked Thiago and went over. Then they checked to see if it was in the area. Then when they couldn’t get us that way, they drew up some ridiculous etch-a-sketch lines until they found the one they wanted.

That’s a significant plot line of the season. We have lost numerous points through dodgy VAR calls, not to mention the exasperating, and uneven refereeing, where our lads are kicked, pulled back, wrestled down, etc. but when we breathe on the opposition they get a free kick.

Clearly rotten.

Second goal bad mix up. Alisson has to shout so loud there so Kabak gets out the way, or, Alisson has to hang back and let Kabak get the touch on it to clear the danger. Either one is fine, but given the season it has been, instead we have a collision and Vardy rolling it into an empty net.

The third goal was sloppy passing from Mo in the midfield. We had number committed forward, looking for the equalizer, and Barnes tucked it past Alisson easily enough.

I’m not down on Kabak. It was a decent enough debut. Henderson sprayed some lovely passes out from the back. We were much the better side for a good hour or more.

Enter VAR to turn the tide and bring us more misery.

Farcical.

Of course Alisson is one of the top keepers in the world but he isn’t undroppable in this side in my opinion. I’d only say VVD is the only undroppable person in this squad. I would give him a rest rather and play Caoimhin and let him get back to better form.

With regards to Curtis. Maybe your right, you can’t be proven right or wrong. I can’t either. If he’s fit he shouldn’t be taken off on his current form compared to others. But if he’s near injury like you said then he should. But we cannot confirm but I’ll take your word

I am so down in the dumps right now. However, we still half the season left to climb back to top 4 and get as far as we can in the Champions league tournament.

What we need is, limit our losses and get the lads psychological state of mind back in order, where, even if we are in an adverse position, like being a goal down, we keep fighting until the end. We are going on about how shambolic our defence is, but our front 3 aren’t scoring enough goals to get us through either.

Part of me thinks that Klopp needs to rebuild the team again. We do not have top quality subs off the bench. Next season, the owners need to buy better players and if they have to pay, they have to pay. Fergie always refreshed his team with new faces every season, but still keep the core players.

Why can’t we just go back to pre var. used to get decisions then not get others. Things always evened out it seemed. This analysis of decisions is depressing and painful. Most of the time I don’t even know what I’m looking at lol.

VAR uses a lot of calculations to get an accurate decision as is possible (there’ll always be some uncertainty).

BUT there needs to be some transparancy in this process. At the moment, it’s a black box. We can only accept the decision, which is either yes or no.

And they claim that the line is only one pixel thick, and then for TV viewers they thicken it. Most of the uncertainty is the frame the ball was kicked I suppose.

At the moment it just feels like two ref teams could do the VAR offside decision and come to totally opposite conclusions. And more often than not, we seem to be on the wrong side of that decision.

Yeah you’re right I don’t know either, just my guess. Also I just don’t think Klopp could drop him without it affecting Ali’s confidence in a negative way. I don’t think for a goalie to get over his mistakes theres any other cure than just trying to put them past him. Thats what fucked kepa, Chelsea managed him so poorly by throwing him under the bus after all the mistakes he made.

Jamal Lewis is shit and has been getting pelters from Newcastle fans all season.

Great suggestion though, a player barely good enough for Newcastle would surely save our season.

Perhaps the admission from klopp…the titles gone…might be the weight off our shoulders…
Sorry just looking for any positives…

Yes, that decision was an absolute joke.

You however seemed to spend more time scolding people in the thread than watching the match. You were probably head boy at your school, but this is just a footie forum so maybe chill out

The VAR onside decision was farcical. After that our heads fell off. People might want to keep blaming some law-maker conspiracy against us, but the truth is there are multiple factors contributing to our form.

In my opinion the main factor is that we miss our fans. No other club and no other manager rely on this connection as much as us

We’ve already got four new players lined up for next season ; Van Dijk , Gomez , Matip and Jota.

After that shit show from the officials today I’ve decided to watch no more football from now on. I think it’s high time that Jürgen and some of our senior players (Hendon, Milly) should take one for the team. Call out these decisions for what they are. Inept or at worst corrupt. If you look at the free kick that led to Leicester’s first Barnes kicks Thiago’s shin. It should have been a foul the other way. How the offside is not given is beyond me. Whenever we have a goal chalked off against us it takes minutes of moving lines around the picture to get the shot that they want to “prove” it was offside. Goals against us are checked in seconds (Son’s recent one against us). We had a goal discounted for a handball which had occurred seconds before. Today Sadio was blatantly shoved from behind in the build up to their second yet nothing was given.
Next presser someone needs to call the officials out on these decisions. Take the fine and let the media debate it.

COYR YNWA
