Probably fair. He had it coming.
As someone else mentioned in the thread⊠the linesman looked hyped up on steroids⊠should have drug tested him at the end of the game eh!
100%
Really good thread on how Klopp changed it up, really worked once we upped our intensity.
Punished enough is an interesting take. The hoops they jump through.
Theyâre definitely pushing the line that itâs all Robertsonâs fault, arenât they?
I canât see how you can have an official participating in a game again with a player that they have assaulted. They are in a position of power and having crossed that line and abused it, how can they be trusted again?
âWhat has happened to Con already, the fact he looks like he has been proven guilty and taken off games, I think that is enough.â
What exactly was his punishment? The game was on sunday evening, what games has he been taken off since then?
Then watch every other EPL team do the same,
i dare say there are other clubs in the EPL who feel a particular referee has it in for them
He has been taken off all fixtures until the investigation is concluded.
Robbo went in his face and was as you say giving him verbals, its not just Robbo it is endemic in the professional game, if I did that to an assistant ref or ref at my level I would be sent off. Why are the professionals treated differently, why can they get away with swearing at refs.
What the Lino did was wrong and he will be dealt with but what Robbo did and other players also do needs to be stopped now and in the future. How often do we hear on here about players swarming refs and getting in their faces trying to bully them, it needs to be stopped.
Robbo shouldnât get any ban, however this kind of attitude towards refs needs to be sorted, the game needs to somehow follow how players in rugby treat refs, with a certain respect, I know its hard as some are just a joke.
For me it is spoiling the game this constant harassing from players, the worse thing in this scenario is that our team is one of the least culpable.
So as not to ruin the âspectacleâ, apparently.
It is just wrong the rules of the game are there to stop this but then again if they were applied properly we would have had 2 additional penalties in the game for holding on Mo
The answer is that they shouldnât be. I despise (I know thatâs a very strong word to be using) Prem referees. They have all the power and donât use it. They should go into each teamâs dressing room pre game and lay down the law. Tell them whoâs in charge and theyâll take no shit. First bit of verbal they should yellow card the fecker and set a precedent.
Someone mentioned refs not being stronger so as not to âruin the spectacleâ. Well for me all the cryarsing ruins it for me anyway.
Iâll give each TAN member a million quid for every time a Prem ref has said. Do you know what player X? Youâre right and Iâm wrong have a corner instead of the goal kick I originally awarde. Thank you so much for pointing out my error.
FFS moaning wonât change anything.
Iâm sorry but anyone saying Robertson was in his face giving it the verbals is muddying the waters. He wasnât screaming or shouting. The linesman is 100% to blame.
Well then, how about using VAR correctly and, you know, giving decisions even a blind man can figure out is valid?
Theyâve made a rod for their own back
Totally agree mate, I hate the use of VAR, it is there to support the refs by giving the correct decision, not, to quote, âthe clear and obvious errorâ
But condoning players actions is wrong, Robbo was wrong and the Lino needs to get a ban as his actions was wrong.
i could find footage of referee abuse more damning than that every weekâŠ
why the refs association have chosen this Hill to die on i dont knowâŠthis is ridiculousâŠthe fucking guy has elbowed a player in the face⊠how is it even entering into any form of debate about players behavior?..if we want to protect referees, then lets protect them, lets not use it as a justification for this rogue unit.
i still throw out my questionâŠwhat would the sentiment have been if Tsmakis left one on Pep a week or so prior?
âhes been punished enoughââŠFMDâŠwe wouldnt even accept that in the lower reaches of over 35s football, let alone the countries flagship competition.
if this is the moment that proffesionals stop crowding the ref after every decision that (not even just the wrong ones) goes against them, then greatâŠtheres a positive come out of itâŠbetter for every viewer of the world gameâŠbut lets not forget about the elbow landed on Robbo, regardless.
