Post Match: Liverpool v Arsenal (EPL 9/4/23 4.30pm)

Oof. Arsenal have had a great season. We had a great era. 3 champions League finals and 3 PL runs to the final day. They are incomparable. Which is why I won’t feel offended if they win it. We’ve come away with a PL title and CL (plus numerous other cups). Let them have their day in the sun if it happens. They are far from guaranteed to turn this season into an era like we did.

Totally agree. Shitty will win it and Arsenal need to deflate and sit tight for another 10 years, cause they need to taste what it’s like to lose the league by a point to a cheating regime which Arteta is trying to build like his protege.

Not good enough first half.

Second half some of the best stuff we’ve played this season.

But I also have to ask the question, who played for the title in that second half? Liverpool or Arsenal?

It was partly us, but partly also them allowing us almost the whole pitch from the start of that second half. They gave us a too good chance to almost make a complete comeback.

Wasting time is another thing, they obviously saw that we cracked under that a few times in big games, so fair play (even if we all hate to see it). It’s more up to us how we deal with it. Sometimes our emotions are a double edged sword.

But I’d like to thank Arsenal and applause our boys for that second half. Watching that, you would think we were the ones trying to win the title, not them. Good luck to them in the remaining game, they’re potentially making a meal of it. But respect for this season, they’re a very young side.

As for Bobby, loved the fight, touches, all-action involvement. Not only effort, because only effort is not good enough for us. I hope we will be able to build a new successful attack with the £180m we spent on them.

Second half we showed what we are about. We may not be quite the same force that we were two years ago,m but we battered Arsenal - the PL leaders - for the final 45 minutes. We should have won, but a poor first half and Mo’s miss put us on the back foot. Really pleased with the draw though and a brilliant Easter Sunday game.

last year miss against Leicester probably cost us the title , we lost 1-0 . i dont know if he is our best taker but certainly he would want to to compete for the golden boot ( not anymore now its halland for the foreseeable future )

lol at the (so far) two people who clicked on that link.

In my defence I was trying to click on the little ‘2’ as I thought it would name and shame the 2 users who’d clicked on it, and I inevitably clicked the link myself. I guess that’s not a feature. So I am number 3.

BWAHAHAAHAHAHAHA

It was only for research

hope now is with thiago back, we can make a bit of a run in the last few games left

Same here. How anyone here would prefer City beats me completely

Mascot is spot on. Personally I would prefer Arsenal to win the PL, but if City win it again it will be a joke, and maybe people will take note. I very much doubt it.

A pathetic first 30-40, then we woke up… Must make Klopp pull his hair out, he’s right we’ve not become bad overnight as we saw today.

At the end of the day not beating Arsenal who had Rob fucking Holding in an alice band at anfield is a complete failure.

I’m sure we did some sort of deal with the devil to win the league, we never get the rub of any luck in any area ever… No penalties for what 30 games, we get 2 and we miss both, utterly cursed.

Can’t wait for this season to be over.

Yeah, you could see the easier play out from the back as soon as he came on the pitch.

Got over a week till the next game to as well to train some more.

Sure the first thirty were horrible. Usual mistakes and individual errors costing goals.

But aside from that first thirty, we were really good. Arsenal are top of the league for a reason, and we ran them ragged.

yep and diaz will be back as well

That’s what I said! I want the season to end because I’m sick of watching the same opening 30 minutes to a game every single time, it’s even worse when we then up the intensity and look like we know what a football is.

Despite their position, i actually don’t rate them too highly. Doing extremely well this season but they’ve been fortunate a good few times now. They’ve been somewhat lucky both times against us now. Other results also. We’ve been terrible nonetheless on the whole.

40 minutes of real rubbish then 100 minutes of high octane Klopp football. Could have won!
