Post match: Liverpool v Bournemouth (EPL 15/8/25 8pm)

Loving the new match of the day highlights feature on BBC iPlayer, you can just watch the individual highlights of games, without having to fast forward past Shearer and Rooney’s ‘insights’ :+1:

He’s been very impressive. Probably a little bit more support for him would give him the clear cut chances.

He’s doing everything you expect from a modern 10 in terms of the off the ball play.

If we start with a proper pivot of macca and gravy, both footballers who prioritise possession. Wirtz will have that better support.

Soboszlai with all his strengths doesn’t fit in the proper pivot.

It’s for Arne to figure out how to keep both Soboszlai and Wirtz in the pitch at the same time then.

Perhaps the answer is to drop one of them.

Or drop one of the front 3.

Isak and Hugo; with Mo and Cody off the bench?

Saw that last night, used to just do this with the Sky highlights via their YouTube but easier to access if I’m just going via the BBC site.

A couple of things on our late goals -
1, What was Ibou doing on Chiesa’s goal? He seemed to be rampaging around their box and he very nearly blocked the shot.
2, Does Endo get an assist for his up and under to Salah?

First game without George Sephton, since 1971, he will be missed.

Not a fan of McDowall’s shouting style.

This has already been pointed out… but for posterity :0)
Will put it in the worst pundit thread as well

He has been terrible over Isak and he should be showing less bias. Then again he’s like all of them.

His anti agenda started with the Jota penalty a few years ago when he cried that he dived.

He is still quite bitter about the Izak situation.

He shouldn’t be anywhere near much of the day. He has always been so overly biased towards Newcastle. It’s embarrassing. And his analysis has never been top-notch to begin with.

My favorite part of the Chiesa goal was that had already began turning and running to the corner flag to celebrate before his shot had made it past the keeper.

Nah,

As the gobshite Owen pointed out, He was close to joining us after he got benched by Sir Bobby Robson but it fell through and he’s been bitter ever since
