There’s only so much you can do with the barrage of injuries and a clearly unstable team.

What you rightly pointed out is the serial search for solutions in the midst of a hailstorm of problems and a congested fixture…

But that’s not to say we haven’t made mistakes.

Nearly every gamble we’ve taken this season, including esp not replacing Lovren, has boomeranged on us. As did playing Jota in what was a meaningless game to build continuity…

Well something needs to change,
Because too many players in our squad haven’t been justifying there huge wages for some time,

Yeh, but apart from all that, we were ok.

We need width… We need our wide forwards going and staying wide, pulling their defenders away and creating space for the midfield to come into.

What we get is our front 3 inside the 18 yard box, all tightly marked, our midfielders camped on the edge of the penalty box tightly marked by their midfield… our free man is the fullback who has no option but to cross.

Repeat Ad Nauseum…

This is exactly the problem…

I understand that we are not going to win the title this season. Football is a 50/50 game of luck and skill, and this year we haven’t had any luck, that is the sad thing here and why it feels so bad at this minute. On top of that shite refereeing (I really can’t remember any ref having those so called ‘it will even itself out’ decisions for us this season. I do remember quite a few against us) and no fans.

It feels shit, but still some cunts here could maybe get a grip of themselves and stop speculating if klopp is leaving because they think he looks disengaged. Fuck off. We are Liverpool and next season we’ll be back on top. We are just way too good to be even considered in the same category as all the other teams in this league.

Can someone explain how Origi is still getting a kick for us? Wholly futile. Why not give Taki a go, or Harry wilson, or anyone else!??

So tell me when he made a good move and when did he get the ball what did he do with it? you stuck up for him last pre match as well. For me I so so wanted Origi and all our buys to be a success, but with his regression and work rate over the last year I am gobsmacked he is being selected, when was the last time he scored a goal in the league.

Why, because we might have lost?

I think the width is there. What isn’t there is the will or the idea of getting to the by line. Time and time again I see Salah hold the ball and there’s room for TAA to get outside and overlap but it generally just gets played inside as TAA doesn’t make that movement.

I cant think of a time where we turned the Burnley or Brighton defense. Not once

Totally agree on the one twos it just isn’t happening either through poor control or lack of movement and for me that is part and parcel of breaking down defensive teams because you take out players with quick passing in the final 3rd

Exactly.

Hitting the early cross doesn’t work when your opponents are just camped in their own penalty area anyway.

The constant injuries have fucked us and it’s all caught up. Simple as that.

You can pick the bones out of performances, both individually and collectively, but it all comes back to the injuries. The knock-on effect of moving player A to compensate for player B missing, then moving player C to cover for player A. Relentless.
Lack of quality off the bench and having 7 or 8 points stolen off us in the first half of the season hasn’t helped, but ultimately it’s the injuries that have done us. People should refrain from digging the players out on here, it’s remarkable we are still where we are.
Top 4 now is going to be a massive battle. Forget anything else, that’s got to be the target from now on in.

I cannot tell you how much I agree with you here mate. Look how cramped we are, no width in the attacking third…not to mention all that space in behind the full backs to be exploited on the counter.

I do. Usually I also put a like on them. There have been a few times I have disagreed with your analysis and so haven’t pressed like, but more often than not I do. Please do continue to write them, it is a nice tradition and many people will miss it if you stop

As Captain Sir Tom Moore would say, “ tomorrow will be a good day”.

I dont even think the cross is early. Well not tonight anyway.

Where I have seen Trent make this move so many times and Mo just ignores him, you only make those runs so many times without receiving it.

Agree. There was one moment where in the first half we had an overload on the left. It was three of us against one Brighton player. The player with the ball (I forget who), has two players free to his left. A simple ball down the line for Andy to be in acres of space.

Yet the player with the ball attempts to cross it himself, with 6 foot plus Dunk and co easily heading it away. Why not feed the two free players to attempt to stretch the Brighton defence?

It’s little plays like this that we are failing at against these low block teams.

Fucking hell! How long is it since we’ve been able to put the same team out for three weeks running? We are playing our crucial midfielders in defence (and one of those is injured). Our best impact player (Jota) has been out for weeks etc etc. We’re OK. There are still 48 points up for grabs (I think) and if we get on a good run with players who know each other anything could happen. We haven’t suddenly become shit since last year’s runaway results, we’ve just had some really bad luck! UP THE FUCKING BEAUTIFUL REDS!
