Welp!
Top 4 and a good CL run I hope.
Injuries have decimated us. Our CBs are very important to how we play and not having Hendo and Fab in midfield is also a huge miss.

To those saying we gambled not getting a 4th defender. We didn’t gamble at all. We got another midfielder ie Thiago and decided Fabinho would be our 4th defender. Which I would say was a good decision, as Fabinho has been excellent.
We then got a good back up left back and an excellent forward in Jota. I thought it was great business at the time.
Also lots of flip flopping about players. Taki, Origi, Shaquiri are not the answers and never will be. It’s OK for one to come on as sub, or to play as a rotational decision.
Today I would have preferred to bring on Davies or kabal along with Curtis, take off Shaquiri and Milner and move Jordan into midfield. Midfield of Jordan, Thiago, Gini and Curtis.
That was Milner, of all people. I can remember being told off for screaming to loudly at the time.
35 million with one year left on his Arsenal the Ox wasn’t the greatest of business especially with his inconsistency and injury’s at them aswell
I’m off to bed with that Cheerleader that was posted earlier, well actually it’s the wife but in my head its the Cheerleader.
Overall I think our business decisions have been pretty good lately. You can’t really budget for serious injuries.
I suppose your right tbf. Just picking on shite over today so annoyed
That’s my overbidding feeling
That team deserved to lift the title in front of a packed a field and also barring the injuries should probably have gone back to back
Not to mention getting 97 points and not winning it.
Somehow feel short changed.
The overall story hasn’t finished being told yet though, even if this seasons league title chapter is best left unread…
All I am going to say about this, which I watched along with a couple of friends, is that Brigthton deserved the win.
I see no reason to focus on all the negatives tonight. It is not up to me to get the team into form, but it is apparant that what we showed against Tottenham and West Ham wasn’t actually good form but strong individual games instead.
Still many games to come, we won’t win the title, that’s Manchester City’s this season, or in the event of a small miracle, Manchester United. We now need to focus on the third place and keeping the hounds below us at bay. If we do that, maybe we can also get second place if we find form.
That is all. Wish you all a good night and hope the disappointment with the game isn’t too soul crushing for you all, as after all, considering our season, retaining the title was always going to be hard.
A few of the guys looking mentally and physically ground down. No crowd to help lift them and probably a strong realisation that this season won’t match up to the previous three.
The injuries are starting to really hurt us. We can’t get a rhythm going, we can’t get any consistency going and we look a bit lost for ideas.
There has to be a real worry about the top four now. With a fit squad or a normal level of injuries I still think we’re the best side in the league but I wouldn’t fancy us putting up a title challenge whilst playing in the Europa League. Would have serious financial and transfer implications too.
There some poorly thought out posts on here to be honest. Calling out Klopp etc. Expecting the coaching team to be able to forsee a glut of serious injuries like we’ve had all at once. It’s like shouting at the wind.
It’s elite athletes playing at incredible speed and with virtually no rest between games and tournaments. Anyone can get injured at any time. VVD for example. Virtually injury free for season after season then gets assaulted. But such serious injuries to so many players? According to some we should have a playing squad of about 40 players.
Just looked at the table, and after all the points drop this season, amazingly we are still
sitting in 4th place. I guess most teams are having a shitty season
This was West Brom all over again but without us scoring first, barely a shot on target and very very slow with our attacking. Brighton are much better though than wba. Kelleher did well and I suppose the captain rest were real poor. We need a big improvement against city.
Look, last season, all the breaks went our way.
This season, all the breaks are going against us.
For example, in October, had that handball in the BHA penalty area been adjudicated against us, we would have lost it.
But not now.
I mean srsly, a deflected shot goes into our goal? How many frickin’ bad breaks are we going to get?
I’m extremely frustrated.
Also, I’ve had too much bourbon.
You just feel that if we can put a string of performances together, and the breaks start going our way, we are going to be right up there.
But we are running out of time.
Had dared to hope that after Spurs and WH,we might be getting our mojo back.
False hope indeed, the wheels fell off again tonight, big time.
Kelleher can hold his head up tonight, then it gets thin.
Thiago can only do so much,if no one is in front of him thinking about the game,I’m not about to criticise him.
O the other hand WTF Origi is even on the sheet for is beyond me.
Anyway, the title is gone now and another performance like last night on Sunday will have City thinking all their birthdays have come at once.
I’m betting we beat City.
That’s what drives you crazy.
We are 4-3-0 against the Big Seven (the Big Six + Everton) and sit atop of that table, but are 6-4-4 against the rest of the league.
Bet she puts a big coat on on a wet Wednesday night in Stoke though
So long as she’s wearing that underneath…
Can we choose? I’ve a catalogue under the bed…
While this is true sometimes you got to make your own luck, we keep passing back and forth between our midfielders instead of shooting, their goal came from a bit of luck.
