You know, IMO we will have to buy 2 CMs because at least 2 among Milner, Ox and Keita will leave next summer, so there will be no money for forwards.
every season we have a drop in performance, hopefully that was ours for this season, and we come out with high levels of performance for the rest of the season
Pretty much everyone you’d think, he doesn’t really single out players but it was actually pretty poor across the board alot of walking and standing.
Everything was just so slow and sloppy
Was driving me mental, slow ponderous passing before Bobby or Curtis or Ox turned it over cheaply and then Konate was so often out of position trying to do too much.
Think Matip comes back in and hopefully we can get Fab and Thiago back in CM sooner rather than later. Think one of Curtis or Ox can play with Hendo and Fab or Thiago but we will struggle if we are playing both of Ox and Curtis with one of those 3.
Really should have pulled the trigger with Jota and Morton much earlier too. We where being overrun so easily and we seemed like we where waiting to find a gear and it just didnt happen.
Ive missed 2 games this season. This one and the Brentford game. I take full responsibility for this result.
They said on motd if it rolled to salah and he scored it would count as handball was accidental.
Thing is, if you want to bring Morton in, you would have to play with 4 CMs, since playing him in a 3 CM system in a PL match would be too much him.
Yep, the rule is better now than it was last year, but still fairly absurd when you run the thought experiment you described, where instead of scoring Mane rolls it to an unmarked Salah who puts it in, and then its not a handball.
Think we will persist with Keita and he will be here next season. Ox should be gone, he is not able to play at the level needed to be at liverpool for a long time now. Milner is still putting in the performances to be relied upon and wouldn’t mind seen his contract extended for another year. Imo we would be fine adding one CM who doesn’t have a bad injury record. It should be our next priority position to strengthen in. Our forwards are robust and rarely miss games, have Jota to rotate in while Elliot could also play in the front three if needs be.
We have enough players who can play the #8 role. A player with the chararitics of Fabinho or Henderson is what we need in midfield. A workmanlike midfielder is what we need to control games better.
Well we’ve had 4 draws so not all down to you mate
If things aren’t going well Klopp rarely seems to change tactics/ personel or takes an age to do so. Maybe that’s because the options on the bench don’t allow him to, in which case we need options that allow us to.
Even though when Ox came on he assisted a goal, I think it would have been better to be able to bring on a defensive minded midfielder to replace Keita when were a goal up but had none on the bench. The balance or ability to manage the game wasn’t there.
He’s good, isn’t he… definitely not a one-season wonder, around for a few years now, and has let Brighton over-perform on a consistent basis. He’s on my personal watch-list as a potential future manager of LFC.
Or Spurs, or Man Utd.
Really? After Klopp finishes Potter will have dived a bit with Brighton or failed at someone like Spurs.
Loads of his type about, do well with medium level teams and never have enough to be top level.
I remember all the Curbishley talk pre Rafa. Thankfully just talk.
If Potter was managing West Ham at the moment everyone would be salivating over him.
But its Moyes, and we know/he knows his level.
And allegedly Carra and Gerrard putting in a word
We seem to have a lot of arguing going off in various areas…Kopp v Virg, Hendo v Ox, …we used to keep our differences in the changing room and sort em out there…arguing on the pitch just shows dissent in the ranks…its needs sorting ASAP.
You can only judge what’s in front of you. He has been excellent for Brighton, and I don’t know if he will succeed at a Spurs type club or not, but I’ll be curious to see how he does. Comparing him with Curbishley is far off the mark imo.
(Then again, I had a lot of time for Howe as well until a couple of years ago, and we know how that panned out… )
That’s bollocks imo. Hendo is captain and has every right to give out to Ox. I’d be doing the same considering he dribbles into 2 players and gives the ball away every time he gets it.
If you mean Klopp rather than Kopp then you haven’t been watching him for the last 6 years
At least it would have meant Firmino couldn’t give the ball away again.
It’s a wonder we didn’t lose as Hendo lost concentration, VVD was poor as was Firmino (did Bobby manage a successful pass?).
