One of Naby’s finest games in Liverpool shirt that. Thought he was immense bar one poor decision to play Mane in when Sadio’s run had perfectly pulled players away to leave Diaz in acres of space with a run in on goal if he’d got the ball. Pressing was great, progression of the ball was great, perfectly neat and tidy in possession.
Thiago, well he played like a man injured in the warm up of the League Cup. Absolutely bossed the show and had the game on strings.
Mane and Diaz were absolute pests too and Ali had his usual save or two that were far from as routine as he made them look.
Superb performance bar the two minutes after the break when we did exactly the opposite of what was needed.
Would love to have been stood next to one of those booing pricks during that first half. Well and truly rammed that crap back down their pig thick throats.
Quad is still on and City will be rattled after that.

Don’t agree he was fine. Had ample opportunities to kill the game but took the wrong option. Missing chances is part of the game but ignoring team mates in a better position isn’t. I understand he badly wants a goal to get the monkey off his back but he’s trying too hard.
His overall game I thought was really good so I wouldn’t be looking to rotate him as he causes panic and the opposition doubles up.
I agree with your other sentiment, once one goes in he’ll be flying again. No better time than Tuesday to start!!

My 50th year too. I don’t know if it’s the best Liverpool team I’ve ever seen but I do know that I have never enjoyed supporting this club more than I have these last few years under Klopp.

I felt the same. Second goal he tried to win the ball when blocking the space was the smart position to take and cut off that route to goal. He was caught out a couple of times, I think the excitement got to him.

Good question. There were some fantastic games back in the day I have to admit. I used to have my ear glued to radio City/ Merseyside for the midweek European games. Christ, it was nerve wracking. In my later years I am fortunately able to enjoy the games and appreciate the skill level. I just think that Klopp has got us so finely tuned - intelligent football at a high skill level. It’s just a joy to watch at times. I feel privileged to see our team play such attractive football.

Great atmosphere in our end today. HT in the concourse was bouncing with the Klopp song.
Citys early 2nd half goal quietened our end a fair bit but once we got the ball all was fine.
At 6 quid a can of warm budweiser it was a sore one!
