That makes two
One of the basics of the game is knowing when and where you cannot allow yourself to get beaten. It doesnt matter who is at CB, if youâre a midfielder and sell yourself that far up at the pitch and allow someone like Wilf a free run towards goal into that space youâre going to be trouble.
OK, yes we have injuries but all teams get them. Weâre low on midfielders, we know this. CB, yes we know. We canât have 5 world class midfielders and CBs, just doesnât work like that. Numez could be looking at 5 games, wouldnât surprise me. We need the crocked lads back and quickly. Well played to Palace, Saha always a threat. Defended resolutely and employed every trick in the book, ref and Nat their players of the match. Love James M, absolute legend. You know you have trouble when heâs starting in midfield.
Onward and upwards lads, smash United and weâre all smiles and flowers. Win as a team, lose as a team, that includes the fans. Today we rescued a point down to 10 men against a well drilled and determined opposition. That took work and balls. Always positives lads.
However:
??? Really? Thereâs over reaction, thereâs posting drunk or angry, thereâs having fixed agendas and theyâre all understandable. Posting like a cock just makes you look ridiculous. This team, these player, this management took us to two games of winning a quadruple. Youâre criticising not binning off everybody who isnât starting quality and showing a distinct lack of class about it. Class is one of the things we like to pride round here. This isnât twitter.
The passage of play for the goal was poor from 4 of our lads.
Salah gives the ball away because instead of laying it TAA two yards from him he decides to run head first into 3/4 pace defenders.
Fabs lazy and ineffective attempt at a tackle
Nat playing Zaha on and being too slow.
VVD got back but decided to let Zaha shoot.
Fabs error is the most visible and will draw the most ire. It was just a passge of play where every one of our players involved got it wrong. Not worth going crazy over, shame it happened but life moves on
Win every game from now till the end and we in the league (probably) so no fear, nothingâs won or lost in August. Except of course the community shield which was a jolly charming day
It will be three. Any more than that is for things like nutting him with proper force, or if have previous for this, or if Klopp goes senile and tries to appeal the decision.
If that was Fernandinho or Mascherano theyâd have fouled Eze when beaten in that position if they were even beat at all. Fabinho isnât even mobile enough to make the foul.
I think we missed Origi tonight.
Hmmmm, itâs violent conduct and nutting players isnât the same as a bad tackle. Maybe less damaging put considered worse.
Granted he didnât do this:
It will be a 10 game ban by midnight.
I get the perception but, he was excellent when he came on last week and the peculiarities of last season, the short break and the same peculiarities of the coming season mean its likely heâs closer to 100% physically than the other players.
Heâs fabulous coming on as heâs against players with heavy legs (would be interesting to see a graph of sprint speeds throughout a match). Slows it down and sees it out. Razor sharp footballing brain and an exceptional leader and role model. But he is older than me and Iâm bloody ancient.
Diaz and Elliott were excellent the rest were mixed to sloppy. I think Nat showed why he is both a valuable squad player and also why he wonât be first choice - just wasnât fast enough for the conceded goal.
Nunez was just a knobhead. The worry now is that he will be targeted as players know he has a short fuse. Then again, ManĂ©âs temperament always worried me but he managed to keep it under control for the most part.
Not exactly the ideal start to the season. The injury situation should improve but itâs not helping with integrating new players - especially as one now has a three game ban.
If Klopp wasnât already fully clear what kind of a ride we might be on with this player, he is now.
Plenty to complain about but gonna focus on the positive for my 2 cents worthâŠ
Was so impressed how Diaz decided to grab the game by the scruff after the red card. He was a man on fire in attack and defence. Thought Trent had a good game. Some mistakes but at least had some fight in him. Elliott excellent before understandably tiring. Defence improved immensely the moment Gomez stepped into the pitch.
Thatâs about it.
Fabinho struggles when people run at him gets skipped past more than he should and lacks any recovery pace.
Trent was so bad.
Must have watched a different game to me or its for bites.
YNWA.
With Jota, Firmino and NĂșñez out we could make a run for Ronaldo âŠ
