Nunez should have had 3 himself before he went off. I have to think that is a big part of why he reacted to the provocation. For a guy who doesnt have even 90 minutes under his belt yet he seemed to be able to find ways to be dangerous already. I get the being down, but there is still a lot to be excited about with this guy.
Cue up the Anglocentric racism, but he is Uruguayan
On a more serious note, no one who attempts a run-by headbutt the way he did prior to the one that got him in trouble is someone who just found himself doing that for the first time in his career today.
Young Harvey who ran himself into the ground winning back balls constantly and Diaz who was the only 1 that looked capable of producing were the only 2 that get a real mentionā¦
Amount of times Trent loses possession was quite embarrassing for a player of his standards, also needs to cut out the diving inā¦Eze skipped by him with the same manoevre at least 3 times.
But fair play Palace they got what they came for, flat back 5 the whole 98 mins and didnāt move out that shape once.
Whole team bar Nunez played well. Nunez might have made an effort to make runs etc, but his shots at goal where beyond pathetic, and then add on his stupid sending off. After watching it again, I saw two head contacts, the first a backward head contact, which lead to the confrontation, then the forward head contact. Not enough for the player to go down like that, but itās besides the point, 100% deserved. At least we canāt complain about his MU performance.
Harvey had an excellent game, but MOTM to Diaz, a fantastic run and strike for a unexpected 1 point.
Next game a must win even though itās looking light on top
Alright I know he shouldnāt have done itā¦but if that had connected ā¦the defender would still be in AnEā¦he held his face, but it seemed connect with his chest and maybe his chinā¦went down like a bag of pooā¦not defending Nunezā¦but what an exaggerated fall by the defenderā¦Also when he got upā¦no fat lip, no bust nose, no mark at allā¦and no check for concussion, which I found very strangeā¦however you look at itā¦it was a head injuryā¦or was it.
I assume the 3 replies were probably pointing out that he was subbed not because of his performance, but because we had a player sent off, and we were going for 3 points. Gomez came on because he is quicker and would be more effective for covering, as well as his progressive passing is better.
People can be critical at Nat Phillips all they want, but it was Nat cross field pass to Lucho that started the sequence to the equaliser. (Of course Lucho still needed to do an awful lot of work.)
