I cut mine during the week.

To completely shut a game down, keep the ball and basically stop the numerous concerns that we make hard work of things at times.

Tall order, but as I said we were given a football lesson by PSG twice last year. I want us above that level.

And yet the statement if trent was here he would have been slagged off is not unfounded drivel…

He’s fucked off to Spain, he’s done so why keep attacking our present players for someone who is fuck all to do with us now ?

Seriously you just come across as someone moaning all the time.

I own you you stupid twat!

PSG and Everton had a full week to prepare advantage we only had 48 hours you only had to look at our 5 players who had played 3 games in a week, they were totally spent after the first half.
Slot is just doing what he had to do to win the game and trying to kill his players and draw or lose the game is not in his vocabulary.

That’s fine, but honestly I thought those PSG games reminded me of UK football vs European football in the late 1980’s early 90’s. We were behind in both those games and well beaten by a better side.

I dont think there’s anything wrong in aspiring to a higher level.

2nd half possession was in our favour as was passes as was touches in the opposition penalty area.

It seems people create there own narrative of a game. If the game had been the other way around and we had put in the last 30 minutes Everton did the consensus would be it was a shite half that Everton controlled.

You are seriously been disingenuous saying Trent wouldn’t have been getting shit.

As for moaning give your head a wobble its called an opinion.

'tis a strange juxta positioning…

Jack be nimble, jack be quick, book your aunt in for the snip :scissors:

Almost looking forward to hearing from the token Evertonian colleague at work tomorrow, after winning the second half he’ll likely be more positive than certain posters on here

People, and the media in particular, love to try and make a narrative to everything.

Thought we were generally in control and when we weren’t we largely held them at arms length. Last week we dominated Burnley but our breakthrough was framed as lucky or fortunate. This week Everton scored with their second reasonable chance and its described as deserved.

Even MOTD showed the quick free kick KDH got booked for. Had zero impact on the game and literally the next thing they showed was the final whistle. But because the narrative they want to paint is ā€œunlucky Everton had Liverpool hanging onā€ because of Grealish’s comments afterwards they felt that worthy of a minute of highlights. Not to mention thinking it was worth putting Barry fouling Alisson in despite the fact he’d punched the ball well clear anyway.

They had a period where they were on top. Not to be unexpected in a derby now they’re not a basket case of a team but reality is Grealish chucked a couple crosses in that we largely defended with relative comfort. Would have been nice to have the two goal cushion but there was a gulf in class and if we’d needed to step up a gear we probably could have.

If truth be told it was the least stressful game I’ve seen in recent weeks.

Felt similar. Hope the players don’t feel that way as well too soon with City and Arsenal falling away already.

After reading some of the reports on the game this morning, I’ve concluded that I imagined that we won the game and are now top of the league, on maximum points. It didn’t happen, it was all a dream because the media reports describe a glorious Everton performance and how they deserved so much more from the game. We are really disliked by most sections of the media and they can’t wait to see us fail.

Everton can take the plaudits. We took the points.

We all know the score. We had it all but won early on. We had only just played a tough game against Atletico on Wed night, so it looked like we took our foot off the pedal a bit, and Everton started to come back into it.

At that point we need to manage the game a bit better, but it’s early doors and we are a work in progress. And Everton deserve a bit of credit for trying to fight back.

They got close, and they can have the plaudits in a ā€œaw bless themā€ sort of sense if they like. We will take the three points and continue our march toward whatever we are going to achieve this season.

I emailed Talk shite to shot that bollox down. They read the email heavily edited and there take was Grealish was head and shoulders above everyone.

We managed the game perfectly in 45 minutes Everton had one shot on goal we had 1 possession was still in our favour and so was passes.

Pundits and plaudits are unimportant.
All that matters are the points.

Yes, still much better than them, well said. To our own level, we can and will improve further. No real complaints here.

The media needs a bit of a narrative, and Liverpool hanging on while Everton storm the castle is a nice story. A fictitious one too!

Barney Ronay’s last line in his article on the Arsenal game says it all for me.

ā€œLiverpool can’t keep winning by one goal every week, we hear. This is true. They are quite likely to start winning by three or four.ā€
