Post match: Liverpool v Fulham (7/3/21 2.00pm)

Maybe we were just highly tuned. But seriously, given the intensity of our training and play, is it so surprising that the wheels have started to fall off? Aging players, injuries, no crowd, covid?

Well yes, in retrospect - and didn’t replace him.

Blaming is fine. Criticising is fine.

Binning him off? Not a fucking chance.

I’d say Lovren feels good about himself.

I just miss him. and think some of the squad do as well. and yes it does sound silly, and I am, but who knows?

I still miss Skrtel, Agger and Sammy Hyp.

Yeah, don’t know why he hasn’t been playing that Van Dijk fella or Gomez and Matip, but nah, he’d rather take our 2 most influential midfielders out of midfield and play them at CB instead. Now he’s not even playing Henderson anywhere. I don’t get it. And Jota has hardly kicked a ball in months, what was the point of buying him if you’re not going to play him? Same with Tiago and Keita too. I could understand it if we’d had injury problems but what’s his excuse?
Do you have a problem with the concept of time? The other day you said we’d persisted with a disastrous high line for 3 years despite winning everything worth winning in that time and said we’d been shite for 18 months despite us wiping the floor with everyone in the PL in that timescale. Now we’re the worst team in the league in the last 4 months? Go and have a look at the fucking league table through November and December then get back to me. Or better still don’t bother.

Even the fucking President of Namibia is feeling it.

We? Do you support Sheffield Utd then.

Bit deep for my feeble brain. I was referring, btw, to Mr Geingob’s statement, if that’s a genuine account.

Actually quite funny.

I’d like to know what I’m supposed to criticize and blame him for. If there was a clear problem of his own making then I’d be as frustrated as anyone. Right now I’m utterly floored and I cant put my finger on any particular footballing reason as to what our issue is.

Without apportioning blame

  1. Why play midfielders in defence?
  2. Why the high defensive line with no press?
  3. Why the same setup when it’s clearly not working?
  4. Why buy a defender and not play him?
  5. Why no defender to replace Lovren, given that Gomez and Matip are known to be injury prone?

Isn’t that the last thing we should do, build a team around one player, it’s why we’ve had so much success in the last few years, not one player but several.

As for Klopp, they gave Rodgers a transfer budget, the ability to bring new coaching staff and 3 months of a new season before they sacked him.

FSG won’t move unless this continues into the new season and it looks dire then. Which I believe it won’t. We’ve been dire in the league in the past (not this dire mind) and somehow gone far in Europe, who knows the performance against RBL was far better than anything in the league, even if you want to take out the luck of the two goals. If we turn out something similar this week I think I’ll be even more baffled.

While I’d say 99% of true lfc fans want Klopp to continue he must be under some sort of pressure from FSG. Losing 6 homes games is bad but while you’re champions is unacceptable.
Ok we know about the defence but actually the last few games we haven’t been too bad defensively in terms of goals conceded. I always think we will concede one with our current defence.
But we are now 8th. That’s not a blip. This is a huge problem.
From champions of the world to 8th is mind blowing.
Something clearly isn’t right. It’s not just down to losing CBs anymore. It’s gone beyond that.
I personally think Klopp will walk in the summer - I don’t want him to but he is beginning to look tired again. FSG will not accept no euro footie and if that is the case you can forget FSG opening up the wallet. They weren’t exactly splashing the cash without selling huge before COVID.

Don’t really know what to write! I am stunned and numb by this nightmare of a run, and don’t know whether I can watch our next match. It really is painful.
I will watch the next match as LFC is in my blood. But I would like to see more fight from our players. Surely they must be hurting? I know we as fans are! The rot has got to stop! Christ I would have been happy with a bloody draw today! Against Fulham! Please Jurgen, do something miraculous!!!
I’ve nothing more to say.

FSG will be 100 percent behind Klopp and rightly so.

  1. what other option have we got? Played two central defenders today and lost to Fulham
  2. We are playing deeper
  3. Are you sure? Diamond against Chelsea. 4-2-3-1 not possible with injuries. 3-4-3 not available as we haven’t had 3 fit central defenders.
  4. injured
  5. Gomez is not injury prone. Unlucky to have suffered some nasty injuries, one of which was caused by being pushed into the hoardings by an opponent. Lovren was admonished on here and rightly so. All of a sudden he should have been our savior. Really? The decision was 100% logical. It’s all of a sudden been illogical because we’ve lost 3 central defenders to season ending injuries. Name another side that has happened to? In fact name another side that has lost 7 players that can play in central defense.

Sorry, but there’s more holes in your points than the sieve I use to drain my peas.
