Well, right now, heā€™s got 8 goals, 6 assists, and weā€™re top of the league with him as our starting 9 most games. Must be doing something right.

Beyond the extent of contact, as long as the contact results in his mis-control of or inability to catch up to ball once manoeuvred past the keeper, it should be a penalty.

Salah is a better player than pretty much anyone not called Messi or Ronaldo in the last decade, so itā€™s not really a fair comparison.

I disagree, he answered the questions he was asked in a way I would expect any manager too.

One thing I do have to moan about is, the number of times Tindall and him were in the dugout box at the same time.

Mo is in the conversation for the greatest PL era player.

Those two assists tonight were cheat code level.

The most important bit of your post, and I donā€™t disagree with most other things you say either.
But this bit, is really the difference. Because how many players do that in the league. He can come good. Still.

Are they showing replays of our reverse fixture at St James Park?

He is doing a lot of things right. The question is if he is at the level we want a top striker to be on or not. But he isnā€™t a bad player of course. The question is just how good. And certainly, his conversion rate is very low. But he does open up a lot of space, much like Salah. But he is clearly a much inferior option to Mane. I donā€™t think he is good enough to start really. He may be the best we have right now, but I do think we should in time look for another striker indeed. Maybe not the most pressing matter, but I am not personally happy with Nunez performances over all and do not think he is good enough starter for our previously muc feared, ā€œFront 3ā€

He have a winner. :+1:

Joe gomez bin brilliant

Call me again at the end of the season, but right now weā€™re top of the league three points clear and our no 9 is a threat week in, week out. I swear Mane and Firmino were never this scrutinised when they were getting similar numbers to what Nunez is.

I canā€™t believe I have to go back to work tomorrow.

I hate you all and Darwinā€™s a cunt.

Curtis Jones a hell of a performance. Pretty much everyone played well. Donā€™t get how people donā€™t see Darwinā€™s greatness.

Also, this was the best performance by Lucho probably since the knee operation, very promising to see that again.

He can. Of course he can. but he is no longer 20 either. He is 24. He can become better, far better. But usually players are around the top of their game when about 24.

But letā€™s hope he become more reliable because he has a lot of things I like about him, like his movement and the way he opens space for others (often leadin to the many chances he tends to miss himself tbf).

Well like I said, Iā€™m as frustrated as any fan about him, but I donā€™t find most comments balanced. A donkey reference here, and Andy Carroll reference there, the occasional ā€œIā€™ve got no time/patience leftā€, ā€œheā€™s shitā€, are far more usual than the balanced ā€œhe should have scored thatā€ or ā€œhe canā€™t keep missing thoseā€.
Granted, weā€™ve heard Salahā€™s been shit today, just because he hit a bad penalty, so maybe itā€™s as Sweeting saysā€¦

Pigeonholed for what, being a crap finisher? You cannot deny what you see in front of you every game and what the stats back up. His conversion rate and amount of big chances missed are amongst the worst in the league.

And to be clear I would absolutely still be playing him every time because we always look better with him in the team, defenders are still shit scared of him and as I said before, in terms of creating chances and providing assists heā€™s very good.

I think at 24 he does have a good chance heā€™ll still improve in the finishing area.
