Hard to see how a biased ref gives the Jota penalty.
The reason, and it is in the rules, his touch was taking him away from goal, a last player can only be shown a red by denying and obvious goal scoring opportunity by committing an offence on a player moving directly towards goal, wording not exact, couldnāt be arsed to look it up and quote it, but that is the basis for the non red card.
Bullshit rules, especially when compared to Virgās red against them as Isak had Ali to beat, which isnāt easy

You missed the one where he was one v one with the keeper and had time, keeper made a good save but you still expect a prolific score to score.
As far as I remember it, Isak was heading further away than DJ and, as you mentioned, had Ali to beat.
No he was moving more towards goal, watching the replays that was Virgās escape from a red and for me he was running on a line just to the side of the goal, but it wasnāt conclusive.
Ha! The guy was around the keeper with an open goal in front of him. What possible logic is there for him to go down. It was pretty clear to me that he was clipped on his left foot by the keeper.
And thatās the problem. We are allowing a decision that was there but not 100% nailed on as justification for the game ābeing evenā, even though NCU got the decision in every single 50-50 other than that one. Iām also fucking sick of NCU getting the rib of the green with refs. Fucking oil money is ruining the game.

Taylor was doing well until the Joelinton advantage, if he had gone back and booked him at the next stoppage of play it would have been correct, but after that he went to rat shit and gave us very little, other than what looked beyond blatant.

Eddie Howe was asked the question many times at the start. The above is a summary of what he said over the many responses to the question. He stuck to his belligerent response right from the beginning, which was to obfuscate and wash his hands of everything.
He could have actually sat down and thought of a decent, plausible, diplomatic and coherent response. But he never. He just stuck to the whataboutism throughout.
As for your hypothetical question - there is the course of action that I would like to think I would make (to refuse), and yet Iām not naĆÆve to believe that what you think you MAY do in a given situation will actually BE what you do if the opportunity is presented in front of you.
Nevertheless, I would like to think that had I taken the poison option, I would acknowledge the issues faced by people rather than sweeping things away with a ānot my problemā attitude.
What possible logic is there for a ref who wants Newcastle to get something out of the game to give us a penalty with the score at 3-2 and 10 mins left?
He could have not given it on the grounds that the contact was not enough to bring DJ down. Then it would have been up to VAR to prove a clear and obvious error.
Of course I think it was a penalty, as Iāve stated before, but I canāt see how a biased ref would miss the opportunity to favour the opposition.

What a win, I have to pinch myself to read the league table. We should be at least 6 points ahead if it wasnāt for that VAR error by the officials against Spurs.
Anyhow, it is not over yet. We have a long way to go.
