Post match: Liverpool v PSG (UCL 11/3/25 8pm)

Now the pundits will shut their mouths about no Liverpool injuries.

I wouldnā€™t bet on it.

I thought Quansah played well in RB to be honest

Slot has said Konate isnā€™t injured just knackered. Premier league looks shaky give your head a wobble.

One of those games we could have played all fucking night and not scored.

Some great performances out there, Alisson, Konate, Trent, Szoboslai, McAllister all outstanding.
As for the attack, fuck me, that was woeful. Nothing came off for Salah and Diaz, Jota is starting to worry me greatly and Nunez and Gakpo were just about the most ineffective subs Iā€™ve ever seen. Iā€™ll assume Gakpo is nowhere near fit but Nunez has no excuse at all for that fucking display. Slot obviously doesnā€™t fancy Chiesa at all.
Hope Konate is just cramp and is ok for the weekend.

Gutted to go out like this. 2 piss poor penalties after 120 minutes and down two players. Itā€™s fair to say that if we had all the luck a week ago, we didnā€™t have any now. Not a single coin toss went our way. Quansahā€™s header, Kvaratschelia instinctively blocking Salahā€™s goal-bound shot, nothing went in our favour. Even their goal; while it was poor on our part it had an element of luck in it.

If thereā€™s something that bothered me tonight is Slot. Not that he made some grave tactical error, or that we didnā€™t play well, but his refusal to use the bench players cost us. We needed lots of energy and intensity to win this one and he finished the normal time with essentially one sub, and that was a belated one as well. You could tell as the game wore on that our levels were dropping faster than PSGā€™s. If he had refreshed the team sooner, we might have avoided the extra time. Endo, Elliott, Jones and Chiesa should have come on a lot sooner. Gapko coming on with one training session under his belt, and doing absolutely nothing, was just wrong. Also, Slot must have been the only person in Anfield that thought that Nunez and Jones as penalty takers was a good idea. This was probably the first time that I felt we missed Klopp. I donā€™t think we lose this one with him on the touchline.

Anyway, whatā€™s done is done, letā€™s hope that TAA doesnā€™t have anything serious because his injury looked awkward.

which are the 5 penalty takers you would have chosen from the players still on the field?

Yeah 13 points from 5 games as opposed to 8 from 5 which is what our nearest challenges got in our ā€œperiod of wobbleā€

Thats Slotā€™s updateā€¦ Konate seems like he might be ok. Trent if long term does at least probably have cover come post internationals.

Well done to PSG for going through, deservedly so over the 2 legsā€¦a side Iā€™ve held in disdain for a while but I actually thought they played both games in good spirits and showed their classā€¦Luis Enrique after the game was very complimentary and Iā€™ll be temporarilty cheering them on from the sidelines until the final at least (Villa, Arsenal and the Madrid sides can all get to fuck).

We were the better side in normal time, them in ET. Felt we couldā€™ve managed the game a little better personnel wise so we werenā€™t left with bringing on so many players that see very little game time to get us through. Bringing off Diaz, Szobo and Mac, then Trent and Ibou to injuries, we really had no chance then. We saw the difference on the other side when they can bring on Lee, Doue, Ramos and Zaire Emery. Simply put, we just met a exceptional side on an incredible run of form and proved to be a step too far. Onto the 3rd of the 3 finals on Sunday, today will be quickly forgotten about with a different result there.

Still pissed we finished first and copped that.

Cruise through to 8th next season.

Not our night, they got the breaks whatever.

How about offensively??

He was close to scoring twice and managed to deliver decent enough balls in the box.

Next question?

You do know part of slotā€™s gameplay is reliant on Trentā€™s creativity or Bradleyā€™s energy, right?

He did ok offensively, but too be honest he is our 4th choice RB, so with injuries as they are, the most important thing is for him to be solid defensively, which he was.

I did a little forum archeology and a year ago, alongside @The-AllMightyReds, you were calling for 5-6 changes.

I donā€™t know if youā€™re a troll, but you have a trustworthy record in overreaction.

Their prick of a captain was waving a PSG flag around in the centre-circle at full-time.
I hope he breaks his fucking leg in the next match and they go out asap.

Not my cup of tea that sort of celebration, but it was a huge win for them. Have to take the rough with the smooth.

I donā€™t really give a fuck how big a win it was for them tbh.

Plucky poor PSG.

Their fans will have to get a crowdfunder going.
