Post match: Liverpool v PSG (UCL 11/3/25 8pm)

This is sarcasm right?

The one game I don’t see and there’s a whole lot of bed wetting in TAN.

I am amazed on how Slot let Nunez on the field. Amazed at how he was our second kicker. As soon as I saw him I knew it was a certain miss.

Feel sorry for Salah, the guy can’t have a bad game because there no one (except for sobozlai) who can step up. Jota and Diaz having bad spells. It definitely worries me that Salah could not be in the team next year. We could have a mancity kind of fall down.

At the tunnel to the dressing room, PSG’s owners and DOF was seen to be having a long conversation with Virgil Van Djik!

It could be worse!

What was the conversation about?

Oddly the words “stay humble” come to mind.

Not a super fan will tell you its contract talks because that usually happens in someone’s work place after a match.

The club apparently is shit though I saw a team for about 90 minutes play exceptionally well and were unlucky to not score. They were the 4th best team in that competition I would now say they are the 3rd best side behind the two Spanish sides. That’s how lob sided and silly that draw is/was.

It’s a disappointing night capped off with a miserable injury or two but that’s all it is.

Salah can’t have a night off everyone’s shit wah wah wah.

Never fucking show up when we pump 4 past someone? We are at least 12pts clear in the title race at most we need to win 5 more games. Some people need to have some perspective as I said “stay humble”.

He scored the last (winning) penalty against Arsenal in the 2019-20 League Cup, and that’s just the one off the top of my head.

Just a Mickey Mouse league…

Yeah this is pretty much it for me.

If we had Bradley available it would have been a completely different game. I reckon if that was the case, then we would have won it in normal time. As it was, Alexander-Arnold coming off took too much out of the game for me.

We are out of the Champions league but at least we should win the consolation prize of the Premier league. Cos Champions > Premier right?

Am I the only one here who’s not sad? Yes, winning titles is important, but I also want us to reach the highest level of football, like we did in the 18-20 era.

I want both performance and titles; we’re not at that level yet. So, this Champions League loss doesn’t make me sad because we did play our best now and just winning the Premier League is enough for me for now. Anything more feels like it’s not right. Let’s make the Champions League our main target next year; we’ll be hungrier for it, imo.

We’re only in the first year with Slot. We did perform well, but we also have a long way to go and many areas to improve. And I do believe Slot will make us much better next year.

The Premier league is numero uno, we should win it, I would hate these injuries to come back to bite us.

I felt this was actually like late-stage 2021-22, where we were just grinding out results by the end.

Regardless, although it hurts to be out, I think we did fairly well, especially given the circumstances. I love Quansah but there’s a reason why he’s only an emergency right-back, and losing a world-class player like Alexander-Arnold is absolutely going to cost us. I think if that didn’t happen, we win the game in normal time.

If we’re gonna go out that’s the best way, earlier in the knockout rounds and on penalties.

Jota and especially Nunez are starting to look like they’re a bit blunt. Pretty sure Nunez will be sold.

We should be okay for the final although not having TAA’s passing is a slight concern.

They caught us at a suboptimal time with Gakkers coming back from injury and clearly not upto his usual sharpness. He could have made the difference.

We’ve just come through the toughest month in the league with our second highest and second most reliable scorer out. That’s definitely taken a physical toll on the team. And this was by far the best team we have faced all season.

I expect them to go far. Fair play PSG.

Mate, how much have you had to drink?

Go drink some more.

Can you still type?

You’ve not drunk enough. Get on the lash.

100% with you mate! Only thing that slightly grates is that in any SANE tournament format we would t be facing a TOP team so early and so would have time to reset. In previous iterations we would have faced a lower level team and would have pretty certainly found a way through.
Only way Arsenal or Villa are gonna keep going is if they keep facing minnows like PSV and Brugge

I felt this too, but,

He also has an issue with trusting the starting players too much. In cup games he often leaves his substitutions far too late (see the United FA Cup loss last season as an example) too.

I understand the disappointment in our loss but I also feel relieved we are out. I have a genuine fear we are showing serious fatigue as the season grinds on.
.
I also now have genuine concerns for DN, if he wasn’t drained before the penalty, he will be now. He needed to step up today and failed.
.
The league is our goal and we must regroup and find some form.

I think we’ll be fine in the league. We have a break after Saturday and we will recover physically. Gakpo coming back is a big plus. We missed him in this tie.
