Post Match: Liverpool v Real Madrid (UCL 21/07/23 8pm)

Hahaha that answer isn’t to the question asked is it?Wow! Like I said arguing for arguments sake.

The question wasn’t are there funds available to Klopp. The question was, hypothetically would 200 million quid in Klopp’s have made a difference.

Anyway, whatever. It’s a yes or no answer that you don’t want to give for whatever reason. No biggie.

How do other teams do it then? Should Ox have got his contract extension? Jordan at 30? Getting a 4?year contract??.

would 200mil make a difference, well I’m sure that Dortmund would let Jude go for that.

If that’s what you’re asking.

what?

its not an impossible question at all, and suggesting we just throw 200m at a dartboard is just being difficult.

fact is, if Klopp had another 200m to spend, with all indicators on the recruitment team this club has put together up until now, it definatley would have made a difference.

its still amazing to me folks try to muddy the question.

Nope not what I was asking.

You seem to be struggling to understand a really simple question. Im sorry but I can’t simplify it even more for you than I have.

I have to carry on living my life now, bye

Let me attempt an answer.

No £200m in the hands of Klopp would not improve us. £200m can’t kick a football around, although we could change it all into fivers and pile it up in front of the goal.

If Klopp was willing to spend it, then it could improve us, but it would have to be the right player, and that player would need to be available, and existing player would have to clear off.

To go further, I think Klopp could already have £200m if he wanted it. He wouldn’t be able to do that every year, but the club hasn’t spent much net for quite a while now and surely has the capacity for a ‘big summer’. I would be surprised if the right player was available last the summer or January at the right price and we’d not moved. Had Jude Bellingham been available last summer for £100m I think we’d have done that, and Nunez, without batting an eyelid.

Which would be true if it weren’t for the fact the Brighton and Brentford’s midfields combined cost less than the kebab I had last night.

especially considering we sold Lallana to Brighton…

I thought he signed for them as a free agent.

Penalty. But wasn’t there one where Trent pushed one of their lads over in the box?

The push by Trent was outside the box.

Yeah, just saw it on Trent. It’s far more a foul than the one on Nunez though.

Neither would Nat Philips.

apoligies if its already been posted,

but the 5 goals that Madrid put past us represent 18% of the goals liverpool have conceded in the Champs League under Klopp guidance

Yes that ref could not care less

TBF that ref was useless. Not biased in any way. Just useless for both teams.

Keeping the squad together is not the issue. It is knowing when to add a piece that continues to evolve the team, WITHOUT the need for a big rebuild…

Waiting to do the big rebuild means coming to an end and then having to start again. That is not how you do it in a forward planning team.

We have done it fairly well in attack.

The problem is that, BY CHOICE, we failed to do the same in MF.

And now, even in defence, there are clear signs we need to add something new…

To be fair I thought it was our defending that let us down No challenges going in for the first goal then the usually brilliant Ali messing up for the second, poor marking on the third, for which I blame the coaching staff, I do not like zonal marking but it can work if perfectly executed. Then an unlucky deflection for the fourth. Add to that the clear penalty we should have had early in the second half. Also do not forget that we were up against the best team in the world.
If we get our heads up and start every game as we did this one we can still finish first. People are talking about a new mid fielder but IMO more important is a new defensive coach. We do not attack the ball positively enough in our own box and the space left empty for the third goal was criminal.

you’re correct, and that’s even worse
