not fair to pick on one player tonight. it was a collective fuckup
I thought Fab was decent that first half. Ridiculous that he avoided an early yellow though.
This Liverpool side winning 3-0 at the home of the best club in the world probably would be.
Losing the ball, then seeing Modric burst though while not even stepping up from a dawdle to a jog.
didnt u see ancellotti and the madrid players begging the ref not to give fabs a yellow⌠they wanted him on the field.
Bit harsh, guy gets crucified just one timeâŚ
The current âgolden childâ did the same on a couple of occasions - thing is we were just back to the silly little mistakes that have cost us all season. We found ourselves 2 up and didnât known what to do.
I donât think they are the best club in the world to be honest
In the first half, he had freedom to be the most advanced midfielder. He made runs into the box. He had license to carry the ball.
Second half his legs were not there anymore. He was positioned more defensively, but struggled.
Instantly made me think of, âAlways look on the bright side of life, tudootudotudooââŚ
I normally try to be positive about our guys, but Fab was beyond terrible. Lost the ball for last goal (fair enough, it happens) but didnât even bother trying to chase back or make up for his mistake
Sorry to say I predicted a loss in the tie but not at home and certainly not in this sorry state.
Votes for Nunez and Salah for the goals and Stefan for his CL debutâŚbut thatâs it.
Major retooling needed post season
Our focus this season now needs to be Europa League qualification as a minimum.
For the second leg, need to be brave and get forward. Need the rub of the green as well, as we will obviously be prone to the sucker punch counter.
With our history, can never say we are out of the tie, but those deflections/richochets need to be in our favour in Madrid.
Everyone should be now playing for their spot at the club, never mind the first team.
Jurgen already knows in his mind the players who are worthy of their place in the team.
Heâs a man of high intellect, he knows. The players who arent good enough, the players who are past it, the players who are the now and future, he knows. But he also knows what heâs got to work withâŚ.meaning most of the dross will probably hang around another season or 2.
Weâll go over there and beat them 0-4. Thatâs what we do. We never make it easy, we do make it count.
A tie is never over until the final whistle. Despite some seemingly revelling in our possible demise.
glanced at twitter and am sure glad i dont have a membership card for that sewer
I hope so mate. Time for loyalty is over
Eh? Do you mean the I-told-you-so brigade?
Frankly it may be more basic (and elusive) than that - we need to find the right balance. I thought we were getting it back but we are one bad game, a couple of decent games and then back to a bad game.
Iâm not sure how you get the balance back and maybe it requires a Forest (rather than a Chelsea) approach, i.e. buy a bucket load of (not too expensive) players and hope a couple come off. We need a refresh it seem as we seem a bit out of ideas and uninspired atm.
