I guess we do need to look at the manner of our goalscoring. We haven’t beaten City, Chelsea or Spurs this season (yes the spurs away was a travesty). But we need to be able to Nick games against top opposition without necessarily “playing well”
That’s what Madrid did over the last three rounds plus tonight
Downhearted, annoyed, sick of refs being pulled in by cheating, sad for the boys …hope they can enjoy the parade tomorrow…but whatever the result…LFC will always be in my heart and soul…LFC the pride and the passion…my team…
so…YNWA…To everyone out there…commiserations…but again YNWA…hold your heads high…oh and goodnight everyone…see you tomorrow…
Little preturbed that there’s some panic to recruit after losing a final.
I can understand needing to look at the midfield and review the overall age of key players but no panic needed.
Personally I’d prefer a tactical tweak that looks at how we address low block teams. For me we seem to try and force the issue too often and end up coughing up possession.
Particularly football, where outcomes are far more likely to be influenced by chance than other, higher-scoring sports (e.g. basketball). That’s why people love it, but when you’re the favorite, randomness favors the underdog (although Madrid’s God-given right to win the CL can also help). Courtois played a blinder but aside from the big Mane and Salah chances we could have worked him a lot better. Still a hell of a season and we go again. ***
*** feel much more optimistic than after the last CL final defeat
It really looked like an FA Cup game against lower league opposition. Real Madrid defended brilliantly, and caught us with a sucker punch. They actually only really started to play after the goal.
