Post match: Liverpool v Wolves (EPL 22/5/22 4pm)

The World Cup is going to completely fuck up the Premier League next season and all the other European Leagues. I’ve never heard of such a ridiculous idea, than staging a competition in the middle of a season.

Well done you red men. Wolves were very organized and tricky to break down, but we got it done and ran out 3-1 winners.

We all feared an easy Man City win, but Villa got a two goal lead and we were all filled with hope. Unfortunately when they get going, City have the ability to pile goals on, rapid fire, and three quick goals against Villa saw the game won.

Gutted for the reds, yet still so very proud.

Man City are not respected by me, or many other football fans. It is all I’ll gotten gain.

On to Paris for our boys. The treble is still on. Regroup, rest, and go again.

That’s a bit Eurocentric. I think many football federation have the World Cup in the middle of their season as a matter of course.

Not going to lie. I am totally gutted. I was at peace with us not winning the league today. Never gave Villa any hope at all of getting anything at City but the way that panned out was cruel.

Klopp’s got his work cut out to lift these lads for next weekend. I just hope they get what they deserve on Saturday because they didn’t deserve that today.

I’ve been thinking about next season if this squad stays mostly intact then a fair few like Diaz are staying at home from the World Cup. Might be beneficial.

Think he said ‘champions league’

I forced myself not to expect us to win the league today. Even at Villa being 2-0 up. It’s the hope that kills you.

I didn’t want to build my hopes up.

As a result I’m not that dissappointed.

3 teams are crying that they’ve been relegated, 15 more said “tara” to their lot today without a trophy. 1 team won a trophy today. We applauded oor team for the two trophies they’ve already won and said “see ya next week” to our lot while sending them off to play for the biggest trophy in European football. How could any fan feel down on a day like today?

Because we were robbed. That’s how.

Being honest I wanted us to win the league. I want us to win everything. We all do. Naturally.

First half of the season we dropped too many needless points. We’ve been exceptional and City have been fortunate with some results. Margins are fine. We could so easily have won the league. Frustrating to say the least.

Really hate this feeling of winning a match but have absolutely no mood to celebrate the win. The disappointment of not able to lift the PL trophy today is hard to describe (mostly brought on by Villa went 2 goals up to gave us the hope that was not to be). The loss of Thiago also hurt more.

Nevertheless, thanks to the Boss and our boys to carry us all the way to this point in the season. One more match to go!

You mean, today? Or more generally?

Yeah, I agree. Their match at Goodison stands out for me as one where I think corruption was involved. If there was any willingness to have an inquiry if this league is corrupt or not, this game would be a good start.
