Post match: Liverpool v Wolves (FAC 7/1/23 8pm)

Thiago’s playing like shite, let’s be honest, but Fabinho and Henderson are putting in some 1/10s. Both of them look ready for the knackers yard.

at least Hendo tries to pass the ball forwards…

I thought he was poor but he likes to link up play to feet and had no options

I can try to pass a ball forwards but it should be the right pass

Sloppy performance. We had some good moments but overall still need to do a lot better. Too many chances offered up as well.

Matheus Nunes looked rather good. Not seen much of him before.

I mean, we’re both being facetious! But you know what I’m getting at: Hendo probably past it and doesn’t have the legs anymore, but he’s at least playing Klopp’s game plan. Fab and Thiago way too negative for me.

I think you are very kind to him, thought he played poorly and was afraid to make mistakes, I hope he improves quickly otherwise he better get used to sitting on the bench when Diaz and Jota return.

I don’t mind that he was poor IMO it was his debut but he played like his balls still have to drop … Doak who is just 17 showed more balls than the 23 year old Dutch International.

Thiago is far from a negative passer, however the passing options just aren’t there, he loves playing the ball to feet to players through the centre but no one is showing. Also what is Klopps game plan because I can’t see one.

Wolves with almost a second string give us a very tough game and probably should have won it.
Our midfield is wide open, no mobility Thiago and Fabinho are like two 35 year olds and Henderson a little more mobile but lacks quality. Fsg get your cheque book out.

High intensity press, use the wing backs as playmakers and encourage Nunez to provide another option by running in behind, from what I can see. The issue is that you need a functional and mobile central trio for this to work, which I don’t think we’re seeing.

We are back and on our way towards the treble

Oh and good news this result will almost guarantee we won’t play Chelsea twice in 10 days

Gakpo did ok. Probably not a player that puts himself about like a Diaz or will let a defender know they’re in for a battle like Nunez but I believe he has other qualities that can make up for that. The first touch to set up that shot on goal he had early on was class as was the attempted lofted pass to Salah which Toti misheaded.

More of a close control, likes to take a few touches when dribbling type winger.

He hides them extremely well … :innocent:

Lets give it a little longer than 80mins though shall we? :+1:

This is where you tell me that I don’t understand the law, but the Wolves player made a deliberate attempt to play the ball. Had he not done do so, Mo is offside. But he did so he isn’t.

Such a stupid rule if that’s the case. Especially with how linesmen delay flags these days. What’s he supposed to do? Duck and hope for the best?

Diaz also joined at a time when the team were clicking and playing good football. Gakpo has joined a shadow of the team that was playing when Diaz arrived.

True but still he has to show more if he wants to start when Diaz and Jota are fit again.

The officials seemingly believed the Wolves player a made a deliberate play at the ball. It’s just that with the newer guidance for this season its very difficult to understand how someone can come to that conclusion.

This is one of the better tweaks the authorities have made in years and is supposed to rule out defenders playing an attacker onside just by trying to defend a situation. So what this looks like is the ref made a shit call, and Dean in the VAR felt it wasnt his remit to disagree with a subjective interpretation so left it alone
