And a satisfying potting session it was too. Put them into a proper soil and pond baskets to speed up their development. A few more to go in a few weeks now.
Was a great first half, but 2 very concerning issues are rising again and again this season.
Half Time: Whatever it is that Klopp is saying to the lads is having a very detrimental effect as our starts to 2nd halves is absolutely shocking. We come out legergic and switched off in way to many games and Klopp needs to address something he his doing.
Leadership: We have been built up over the last 5-6 years as having the ultimate leadership group and whenever we went behind, we fought tooth and nail to right things, but this season we seem to fold like a house of cards under the slightest hint of pressure and if we go behind we seem to give up almost immediately, again something that Klopp needs to look into in the summer.
The problem is whatever he said after the Man Utd half time seemed to have a glorious effect.
So I’m not going put that on Klopp and make something out of two games, we’ve started slow to both halves for some time. Odd time we don’t seem to be our better performances but we were a bit lucky at Newcastle before we scored 2.
So blame Klopp and players for the way we start games but not for how we started two second half’s.
I think we have a few more “sellable” assets than Curtis Jones. There may be clubs that just may give us a bit more for the likes of Salah, van Dijk, TAA, etc. than we would get for that Jones lad.
Anyway, what’s this got to do with Post-match self-flagellation?
I don’t think it’s so much what he is saying, as much as it is the burnout we display this season. By half time, the legs seem to be often gone…more physical rather than mental in my opinion, after 7 seasons in this intense style. Should have rebuilt more smoothly, based on that it wasn’t something unknown for Klopp sides.
Excellent, I was about to write something similar. For me, our issues are mainly physical. Of course, it has an impact on the mental side too, but our physical problems are the main problem, no doubt about it.
That’s the major point imo which Klopp has to get right this summer, before next season starts again.
I think a lot of the criticism of Hendo is misplaced, but its undeniable he has been far less effective this season. It shouldnt, but it does drastically reduce the impact of any message that comes from him. When he is a player who manages to scoop up every loose ball within 40 yards of their goal when he yells at you then you take notice. When you are finding yourself with 2 players to deal with and the guy who should be doing more to stop that happening yells at you it is pretty much impossible to avoid reacting negatively. It’s what explains how rapidly Keane went from being a pillar of Utd’s success to a toxic piece that needs to be cut out because the moment his legs prevented him from deserving a place in the side, his “leadership” lost its power and became counter productive.
