Tbf the pre-match thread here was full of hysteria about Taylor

$ity were the better team and judging by the performance of both teams we must be happier with the point.
We have difficulties playing away from home vs. them in the league. One league win since 2010 and since they appointed Guardiola we havnā€™t won at their place.

Sadly I canā€™t see where they are going to drop points - playing against teams that have nothing to fight for - Brighton, Wolves, Watford, Leeds, Newcastle, West Ham and Villa.

While we have much more difficult matches - derbies vs. Everton and Manure /say what you want but these pricks play their match of the season against us/, Tottenham.

Alisson was really good today.

Matip was our best defender, while VvD was shaky and had too many problems with Sterling. Robbo was below his usual standards for most of the match. Trent did not start well, bur still assisted for the first goal, played improtant part in our second goal and during the 2nd half he totally dominated Foden.

In midfield we totallly lost the battle, that is why I speak for a very long time that we need two new midfielders during the summer. Fabinho was worst player on the pitch by a mile, looked like a player from 6th or 7th division who is trying to play against top professionals. He was so slow, decision making was awful, lost his man constantly, passing was erratic.

Thiago and Hendo were ok, but nothing more and we needed more of them. At least Jordan pressed and helped the defence, but if we want to play that type of footbal against teams such as $ity, Bayern, Real etc. we need better midfielders.

The attackers did their job goals from Mane and Jota and Salah was also good today. And I must admit that Mo put a huge defensive effort today, tracked back and helped a lot. Well done, son.

I am sorry only for that situation /late in the 1st half/ when Jota should pass the ball to Mo. Overall City had most of the clear goal chances and a draw is a good result, judging by our performance.

Now the title is Cityā€™s to lose, bu no one can deny the huge eefort by our team, being 14 points behind at the start of the year and making it only 1 point with only 7 matches left to play.

Yes, me too. Heā€™s a bit of a dick but heā€™s not a fraud like ppl suggest. Weā€™d have won 2-3 PLs with Klopp If Pep wasnā€™t coaching City

The problem is that you canā€™t just press City. They are too good.

Personally, Iā€™d have dropped the line a little and squeezed the space between the keeper and the back four (the only time Iā€™ve thought this all season). Iā€™d have brought on Gomez for Jota or Mane, put Salah through the middle and given Trent licence to go wherever he needed to pick him pick him out.

For all people have been saying we could do with a De Bruyne, weā€™ve got one - but he plays at Right Back. And his passing range is possibly superior to Red Kevā€™s.

The play making fullbacks thing is brilliant, but Iā€™m just not sure it works against these cunts, where Trent just ends up penned back.

They are when in possession or attacking. Defensively I don think theyā€™re that great. Trouble is getting into positions often enough to trouble them.

But if we canā€™t win the league Iā€™d be absolutely delighted with a cup treble

The expression ā€œtoo clever by halfā€ comes to mind.

This one too.

Thatā€™s right. Either you drop back or you take your chances with the press. Doing neither was asking for trouble.

To be fairā€¦ Although most calls went their way, it was a very big call that went ours (with Thiago not being sent off).

Great to see them on the other end of some bad calls though.

we were rotten today,
totally outplayed and dominated by Man City,

and yet they still couldnt beat us

i wonder what Pep and his players are thinking?
given that we have to play them again

Not good enough, #Kloppout!
Otherwise well better than losing, itā€™s not over yet!

Nah, we came up against a great team. Two heavyweights slogging it out, both landed punches and live to fight another day

These are the best two teams in the world.

They landed more punches probably , but the end result shows that itā€™s 2-2.

The KDB goal had a huge element of luck with the deflection of Matip and it was an uncharacteristic error from Trent to play Jesus onside.

Both of our goals were something that they couldnā€™t do anything aboutā€¦

They had the better chances to finish it off but they didnā€™t. Like Dembele missing the chance to kill the tie at Nou Camp. We survive to fight another day.

These things are cyclical. A day will come in the future when we have the equivalent of Roy as manager and the equivalent of Balotelli up front and Konchesky in defence. And weā€™ll tell our kids about the glory days where we had thrilling games against billionaire, sportwashing oligarch teams. When we were in with a chance of a quadruple with 12 games to goā€¦and people still complained on the forums and twitter

As much as I loathe City and how they built their team with shady money , cheating etc etcā€¦ These two are the best teams in the world. We were better in anfield where the game finished 2-2. They were better in Etihad where the game finished 2-2

Giving City the boost of a cup final will help not hinder their League performance. Losing to City in the SF will damage our confidence.
Winning is a habit.
Great teams win Cups.
The FA Cup is an important competition. Itā€™s a fantastic event for supporters lucky enough to get tickets and creates life long memories. For those who canā€™t get tickets it is great day to be in the city of Liverpool.
Itā€™s part of our history and tradition. Anfield South trips are not to be given up !
