Post Match: Man City v Liverpool (EPL 23/2/25 4.30pm)

Mo is now our joint 3rd all-time scorer, equal with Gordon Hodgson. Hodgson was a contemporary of Dixie Dean in the 1920s and 30s but Mo’s stats are comparable.

Don’t forget work rate Henry almost never did any Defense work but Salah works his socks for the team.

First PL win at the Emptyhad since 2015-16…Pellegrini was still in charge and Klopp had been in the dugout for a month.

Couple of things where he just spoke his mind and knew what he was talking about. Described Salah’s role in the side well, called bullshit on Richards when Richards claimed he knew he’d be as good as he was before he joined Liverpool and raised the opinion that he should really win a Balon d’Or.

I enjoyed it because I remember feeling like he was being a bit bullied by Keane last time I saw them together and considered it a bit of an unfair mismatch - Daniel always seemed a shy lad and Keane is well, Keane…

Arne Slot is the first Liverpool manager to do a Premier League double over Pep Guardiola - and on his first attempt, too!

To be fair, Micah played with him for a season at Fiorentina and has spoken before on being wildly impressed with his quality and drive to be the best. I’ve heard him say he is a bit surprised by how reliable a goal scorer he became, but had no doubt he would be a raving success if he made back to the prem

Pep we controlled Liverpool well in 2nd half hmmm.

They got to the bye line more often than we did, so they essentially won the game. Apparently.

Great result.
Effective performance, especially first half.
Second half a bit dire, although we always looked comfortable.
Mo & Dom outstanding.
Trent fucking awful.

Sky presenter before kick off - “Liverpool on course to win their second Premier League title in 35 years”

Again, thankful I’m no longer giving those biased cunts money

Funny isn’t it. This time last week tension was creeping in, we were looking tired and nervy and Arsenal were starting to nip at our heels.

This week the title race is done and it’s just a matter of when we pop the champagne.

Football fans may be fickle but the football media is far worse. A reminder to never pay them too much attention and certainly don’t buy into their desperate attempts to whip up a narrative.

Is there anyway that we can ask the league to retrospectively award them the points? It feels unfair to take all three when they had more possession than us.

My bad, I managed to tune in for the second half.

I didn’t realise that the 2nd,3rd and 4th in the league behind us all lost this weekend! I hope all our ducks are in a row this season!

Yeah it’s like people who suggest a team is in form after they won their last game after losing about 5-6 before it.

2-0 win at Mancheater to move 11 points clear with a Mo goal and assist to continue his march towards the Balloon Door? Yes thanks

We had a difficult question to answer this weekend, defending champions, top 5 club, away match. Answered.

Arsenal had an easy question. Home game against a bottom 5 club. They sputtered.

Mentally, I think this will have broken them.

Could it inadvertantlty help them by lifting the pressure off?

Regardless even if it does I think the performance by us will help us.
