I think Millie will be out for a bit and IMO that’s a blow for our side. Millie was in fantastic form. When he sat on the floor he shook his head and said to Ali, I felt it pop, or I felt it go. I’m guessing hamstring. He wasn’t too happy in the stands either. The camera panned to him and it looked like he was using some colorful language.
I like it. I’ll give it some thought.
I saw him at the City game. Good to see him.
thats pretty much my take on it too.
i mean, i did have the extra comfort blanket of feeling like we were in complete control even when we were at sixes and sevens…weird.
If anyone needed any more proof that these deadshits would only warm our bench (at best!!!)…here it is.
JK would have binned these lazy fucks years ago.
Just realised it’s the fourth red card for the team against us already this season. Chelsea, Leeds, Atletico and now United. Possibly due to our improved attack?
The problem is that that analysis doesn’t show the problem is laziness, though that is one of the problems. It makes it fairly clear that Solskjaer put a team out to press that wasn’t prepared to actually play a pressing game, and hadn’t prepared particularly well to break one down (which a couple of weeks of practicing pressing would do for a side). He must have decided with just a few days that he was going to surprise Klopp with a press, and didn’t put in the real work of teaching his team how to execute.
We have to get it taken down…
I don’t like the lack of news about Naby’s injury
For me it was two yellow cards, for two fouls in quick succession, or a yellow followed by a red.
I agree the first tackle was a foul. I think it was cynical, but you could rationalise it as a clumsy forwards tackle. The third, it was the intent. The was no intent to win the ball it’s obvious by the force used.
An analogy would be a player giving away a foul and in petulant manner kicking the ball into the crowd in frustration. Ronald’s behaviour was similarly petulant but in addition I would argue unsporting/provoking an opponent, with primary intent of hurting The opponent . Easily worthy of a second yellow.
In my mind that third kick should easily of been considered violent conduct.
**VIOLENT CONDUCT
Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.
In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.**
For me Ronaldo that third kick. Ronaldo was not challenging for the ball.
He was literally kicking the ball though. He’s not required to kick it more softly.
The first swipe though, that’s a challenge using excessive force, with no attempt to play the ball. Straight red.
Lindelof was even worst, my commentators kept asking where he was as they couldn’t find him, at least Maguire was in the frame so we can all have a good laugh.
The whistle had gone by the time he lashed out and kicked the ball. Given where the ball was located and the force he used, there’s no doubt in my mind he intended to hurt Jones and should have seen red.
Difficult to miss a 6’4" fridge to be fair. Lindelof though, is he here?
Not really. The whistle goes as he makes the third and final kick.

Weird that this is even a debate.
Its all about intent.
Ronaldo knew exactly what he was doing. He was not trying to win the ball. His intent was to hurt/wind Jones. It showed in his aggression. He was aggressive as fuck with that kick. Then just walked away avoiding eye contact.

Its the equivalent to say Harry Kane backing onto a jumping defender (like Suarez last week on VvD), or a tackle from a Burnley player where they win the ball but they purposely follow through. The primary intent is to hurt the opposition. Winning the ball is secondary.
Ronaldo showed a disregard for his fellow professional. Does not matter he made contact with ball. You can have no contact with ball or player and still get sent off. The ball was not there to be won. The action he took could not have won him the ball. (The natural play would be to try roll the ball backwards)
He got supper lucky not getting sent off.
What’s awesome about CR7 signing for ManU instead of ManC is that he weakened both teams.
LOL!
