Exactly my reaction too
Have a feeling that new white away kit is going to sell pretty well.
EDIT: Backordered through December, I guess so.
Didnt notice it before but Ibou totally takes that cunt Fernandes out of the picture. Wraps his arms around him and yanks him away like the moaning whining toddler he is.
In reference to the refereeing of the game I do not think it was as bad as some people make out. Man. Utd. Have an above average number of players who will roll around and try and con free kicks and in this part of the game Anthony Taylor (AT) was in my opinion good.
I will be honest in that I called for a Red Card on all of the incidents, but in hind site my opinion maybe biased. Iv tried trying to view the Maguire and Fernandes fouls but am struggling to find them.
Football is a strange game, if the Rat had scored for United in the first 5 mins the game/result could have been different. But in all honesty we played most of the game in 3rd gear.
Unfortunately, I can not see how Utd. Will stick with Ole. Apart from Neville every pundit has called him out and now you can see the players have lost faith. I pray they stick with him.
By the way, I only noticed on MOTD2 but there is a clip where Phil Neville the 2nd and Ole are talking and it appears that PN2 suggests bringing on a player and Ole says who and PN2 says Greenwood. Now I appreciate your staff voicing their opinion but Ole didnt even object, he was like yep. I would expect a decent manager to ask why.
Manure should have been given 3 reds they got off lightly with what? 8 yellows and a red was it?
Can you split/cut that up into groups of 22 and a man in black within rectangles please?
Pogba will probably get a 3 game ban.
Keita, theoretically, could be out for the rest of the season- we don’t know yet.
Pickford was guilty of a rash and reckless tackle on VVD - he received no punishment.
VVD missed almost an entire season due to his intentional and violent tackle.
The tackle on Harvey Elliot was not intent on causing him harm - most people would agree that.
The punishments then obviously do not fit the crime.
A review body should look at tackles such as these, regardless of what the referee has decided on the day. The punishment, if found guilty of a reckless and dangerous tackle causing substantial injury, should equal the time that the injured player is unable to play. So in Pickford’s case, he would have had to miss the remainder of the season as well.
Pogba should not be available for selection until Keita has made a complete recovery. Whether that is a week, a month or a year.
This may seem like an over-reaction - but the system would work equally for all sides.
So what happens then when a player accidentally injures a player and puts the player out for 6-12 months?
And what if Kieta gets lucky and recovers by next weekend - does Pogba get to play too?
Anything rash, reckless and/or dangerous should be punished whatever the intent. The goal is to cut this crap out not determine intention, which is impossible imo.
If players are punished for being pricks perhaps they will stop being pricks, then probably not but they should miss games if they continue being pricks!
As I mentioned with Elliot - which was a non-intentional injury, the player should just serve the usual ban period.
Of course, but for me it was the first swipe that’s the red card offence because there was no attempt to play the ball. In the following kicks he’s literally kicking the ball.
Even the extract from the laws that you posted makes that point.
Anyway, clearly others also think that kicking the ball is worse than kicking the opponent so I’ll leave it at that.
No - minimum 3 match ban for reckless and violent play.
The review board would examine individual incidents referred to them by the 4th official / VAR team.
I think we’ll have to disagree. His first swipe at Jones was petulant and when he didn’t make proper contact he followed it up with two aggressive kicks at the ball knowing full well Jones would take the full brunt. If he was trying to get the ball to keep possession he would have been trying to pull it back away from Jones body.
I don’t disagree with that.
Do you still stand by your comment that the whistle had already gone by the time he lashed out at the ball?
No. Your clip appears to prove otherwise. My memory of watching it on sky at the time was the whistle had already gone. I can’t find a clip from the sky sports footage though.
I still stand by point that he was intent on hurting Jones.
You say that as if I disagree. I don’t.
Anyone “defending” or representing Taylor should understand that his fucking indecision on Ronaldo could have ultimatley cost us with Keita.
If he sends Ronaldo off, then Pogba has to think twice about the tackle on Naby.
Maguire and Fernandes were also potentially red cards, and that momentary indecision gives licence to thuggery.
I mentioned it earlier that Thiago suffered vs Everton last season because Oliver was weak in not sending Pickford off.
There is no conspiracy or corruption as was already mentioned, but there is a bias when Taylor is involved. He is a poor referee and his performance on Sunday bordered on cowardly.
In the Pogba incident alone his initial decision was cowardly.
Not intended at all, not doubting you feel the same.
I was a ref for several years at senior football. If that happened during a match I was officiating I’d have sent him off. Could have been for the follow through or could have gone for two yellows, ie one for the initial foul and another for the double kick when Jones was on the ground.
Which, I think, is roughly my position. The initial follow through is more red than the kicks at the ball when Jones is on the ground, which are more yellow (orange, if you like).
Either way we both feel that he should have gone.
