Was impressed with Joey G. Doing well

Great skill by Kieta, he had his injuries but he was and still a quality player. Defensively we were excellent but certainly and stating the obvious here we could have scored 3 if we had more composure or less selfish. Almiron today was impressive specially his work rate, he could be another Gini without breaking the bank !

Midfield was excellent today. It didnā€™t look that promising on paper but on the pitch they dominated. Keita especially was sublime and Klopp was extremely pleased with him when he greeted and hugged him at the end. Joe Gomez deserves a special mention as well. Heā€™s been very good as right back recently and he definitely deserves his plaudits.

The forwards misfiring was frustating but itā€™s better that it happened in a game we dominated and won than in a much more open and nervy affair. We press on. Now somebody please hand the plastics something to whine and cry about.

We were poor in front of goal but the rest of our performance was flawless.

Many players could have been picked for MOTM but it has to be Keita for me for the only goal of the game.

Gomez was superb at the back, Milner was superb in midfield. Diaz and Jota were a constant menace. Robertson is tireless.

With our normal level of finishing we win that 3 or 4 nil.

Come on Leeds.

Some not happy with Milner starting but he was far too good for newsandcastle today.

Nervy as hell, because just 1-0, but it didnā€™t feel like the team thought so. In hindsight, chain-drinking about 6 cups of coffee watching nervously may not have been sound practice on my part, I like these 730am kick-offs, but I like them better when we put them away quickly.

As a couple have said, composed execution on short rest with a rotated side, effective rather than commanding - although statistically that was more dominant than it felt.

MoM is pretty difficult after Keita, for the goal plus being a part of a controlling midfield. Did Toon do enough to warrant a defender getting the nod? I guess I would give one to Gomez because their game plan was clearly to run St. Maximin at him, and got nothing to show for it. Torn between Diaz for being such a consistent threat, and Robertson for all those runs along that same side.

Milner proved me wrong Iā€™ll admit it, rotation was surprising but I had a late night and couldnā€™t watch the game so they were 1-0 when I woke.

Sounds like we battered them on the Official website will check the BT replay when I get home.

As @Hope.in.your.heart said these were a potential hazard, they were my main concern but we sounded like we should have scored 5 and they created nothing bar some offsides.

Absolute shut out. The commentator (Drury?) was wanking one out hoping and praying for an upset but it was never on. We were in full control of that game

Yeah, Andy was excellent. The engine on him is amazing.

Though he did have one wtf moment - when he stood like a statue when the Barcode was running with the ball. That was a moment of schoolboy defending there. Obviously, the Barcode just had to slight shimmy away from Andy then had free space in front of him., with Andy taken out of the game.

With Milner proving width on both the left and right, it allowed Andy to take almost the number 9 position at times. He found himslef with the ball when Dubravka was in no manā€™s land, then (like many others today) chose the wrong option.

But Andy being Andy, he was still hunting the barcodes down in the 90th minute. Ideal for Tsimi to come in the next match for a much needed breather for Andy.

Now do we watch the Leeds gameā€¦or follow it hereā€¦I dont want to jinx itā€¦

Definitely.
The extra benefit of all this rotation (now that itā€™s worked out) is we also have Konate, Trent, Fabinho, Thiago and Salah all fresh for Tuesday.
Even Mane who only played just over 60

With Pep seeing Klopp make the changes, and with his eye on Wednesdayā€™s match at Real, hopefully he overthinks and gets distracted with seeing if he can rest someone.

Though Leeds are attrocious defensively, they do play, so want them to have a go at the $hitty defence. The ref needs to strong with an eye on the tactical fouls though.

When Leeds beat them last season, that Fernandinho should have been sent off way before he cynicaly injured Raphina who was charging upfield.

Just what the human rights abusers deserved. Like the poster above said, hung drawn and quartered like they do to their own citizens.

Also, Saint-Maximan is a bit shit isnā€™t he? He has a stylish name, and runs about a bit, but other than that heā€™s just like one of those kids you played with in high school. You know the type, total ball hog, thinks he can just dribble everywhere. Also, TERRIBLE lid on him. More like Saint- Minimal.
Job done. Come on Leeds.
