just re-watched the yellow for TAA. Gordon made absolutely no attempt to get the ball, instead it was a full-on mighty shove into TAA’s back, which sent him sprawling. And, to me, all TAA did was throw the ball back onto the pitch expecting to be awarded a free kick. I think, in that moment, TAA forgot that EPL refs are totally corrupt and biased, and have shit for brains.

Did they mention this incident on MotD? It looked to me as a deliberate attempt to force Trent into the advertising hoardings, presumably a trick learned from his Everton days. What was the result of that incident other than the yellow card? It looked to me like a deliberate attempt to injure a player.

Yeah it was an appalling decision. But I want us to learn from this and stop the nice guy Klopp shite. Let’s start going down for everything and making a meal of stuff. Trent should have stayed down after being pushed and virg et Al should have been ‘outraged’ while the bench jump up. That’s what cheaty and the hydrocarbon doping scum do and now refs are habituated to expect it. Sick of us being the nice guy suckers who get kicked about without forcing refs to call fouls.

Actually, I just checked the clip and it was next to the dugouts. The assistant ref was looking the other way - presumably expecting a pass and to see who was offside:

Its not a red card offence. Its a silly foul, but its not a goal scoring opportunity. He is going away from goal.

so im not gonna drill down on pro or anti LFC bias and whether its true or not, (i personally think there is something there) but im gonna talk about the TAA incident from a football viewpoint as we consistently see bizarre decisions for alot of teams across game after game after game every weekend…
if you isolate the 5 seconds around the Trent yellow card incident, and include the commentator justifying the yellow as thats the current ‘directive’…you see everything thats wrong with 2023 match officiating.
how can anyone watch that, and honestly, decide, hand on thier heart, that TAA needs to be cautioned for timewasting (of all things)

id love to see the referees all stand back. look at the passage of play. and comment on why.
id love to see any fan of any club, Newcastle included, stand back, look at that passage and suggest that the result is good for the game of football going forward

Fuck knows how they don’t book someone like Ashley young earlier in the season when he progressed the ball from near his penalty box to the half way line while taking a throw in and then do this shit.
