I’d agree with that latter point. It’s another reason why we can’t rely solely on Thiago to provide that thrust, though.
Yes, this. There was plenty of space wide if we would use it. Example: Andy goes wide left, Forest are all compact.
Fab with ball in the middle ignores Andy, and passes to player next to him rather than exploiting the spaces wide.
Boardman literally says not putting in a shift haha, but hey if you want to be pedantic.
There was a sat earlier in week on Fabinho saying last year he was winning 6.6 tackles a game this years its dropped to under 4.
There was one in 2nd half where Elliott was in so much space the nearest Forest defender was in a different postcode and Fabinho never saw him played it back to Virgil.
Which is the interpretation you’re choosing to read into the movement and performances, rather than what is actually happening.
Again, your interpretation. From my perspective it’s quite ironic seems it’s very much the compulsive kneejerkers who are the immature ones not interesting in discussion in good faith.
that’s the weekend gone
One postive was Curtis getting a game, and playing deeper. He had to be quicker with the ball today in that position, rather than taking an extra touch that he likes to do. Good for his development.
Elliot, Carvalho and Curtis all starting was a surprise, but it is what it is with injuries, rotation, etc. After $hitty and Ali’s WH heroics, we really needed to squeeze out a win, even if “undeserved”.
True. But it’s your interpretation that that is from a lack of desire.
It’s not automatic that it’s from a lack of desire.
That’s rather simplistic
I’ve DMd you.
As I say, read back any of my contributions on here (or any from my time on the TIA forums right back to 2007) and you’ll see I’m the opposite of kneejerk and generally an optimist.
I can’t remember the last time I was so angry at a performance.
Like a re-run of LFC ten years ago. A slow slow build up starting from the back sideways passing letting our opponents get eleven men back behind in defence. Not a clue how to break them down. An absolute f** img shambles. A third time this season that Joe has cost us a goal pissing about as last man instead of clearing the f**king ball away from danger. It’s going to be a long hard season with just an outside hope of scraping a place in the top four. Definitely need some investment in January.
Some? We need more than some!
My opinion is this team is stale and needed refreshing, and the desire is not there for some of them. I get this confirmed when I see them losing 50/50 balls week in week out
You can disagree, but that doesn’t make my opinion or interpretation wrong. So let’s leave it there.
I’m glad you finally accepted that it’s YOUR interpretation.
And it’s wrong. Why?
Because it’s not supported by any evidence out there.
Another embarassing result this season. But the main reason for our situation is the distinct lack of investment in this squad.
I have said maybe 100 times that there are too many injury prone players wearing the shirt - Thiago, Matip, Ox, Keita, Arthur /shocking signing/.
The situation in midfield is shocking and was so easy to predict - Milner /36 years old/, Thiago /31/, Hendo /32/, Ox and Naby are always injured, while Jones is not ready to be a starter for this team.
And last sumer the answer of this was the loan signing of Arthur. Another injury prone player whose career is moving in a downward spiral and what a surprise, he played around 5 minutes for the club and is injured for months.
Elliott has got the potential /the only LFC player today who tried to be creative/, but is too young and inexperienced and the same is vaild for Carvalho.
Fabinho is fuckin poor this season, but it is understandable. His best matches were when he played in a 3 man midfield with Hendo and Gini, but at the time Wijnaldum and Jordan were physical beasts, could run for hours and Fabinho’s role was to cover the small spaces they left. That is no more the case, our midfield is slow, lacking ideas, they usually leave huge holes between them and as a result Trent is another player who is targeted and has a season to forget.
In attack last season we sold three experienced players and Minamino, Origi and Mane and signed only two inexperienced guys in Nunez and Fabio.
And as a result 30+ years old Firmino and Salah had to play 3 games in 6 days and they looked jaded. Nunez is injured and Fabio is still learning. We had to sign one more attacking player too, but as I said the lack of investment in midfield and attack will lead to missing the top 4.
And don’t blame Klopp for that, the German makes mistakes here and there, but the biggest mistake is that the owners simply refuse to spend big, while the holes in the squad are fuckin obvious.
Soon we will here their favourite slogan and empty promises: ‘‘Next summer we will spend big’’…
But this will be a season when we will have to watch a struggling squad with aging, slow and lacking ideas midfielders and many injured players.
Spot on.
Haha someone’s opinion can’t be wrong, thick fucker.
Bugger. What a crap start to the weekend
And that, in a nutshell, summarises your entire posting history.
A person’s opinion can very much be wrong, by the way, especially if it’s riddled with logical errors.
definitely need recruits as too many injuries knock us out of our stride
