I think the person most disappointed by that result will be Mikel Arteta.
Chiesa and Jota both got 90 minutes in their legs. Curtis was saved , and hopefully it was just illness with Gomez.
I think Slot is going to be quietly content tbh.

Hope Slot lays into them. No excuses for performances like that, in any comp.
We need a competitive string of reserve players if we want sustainable success.
Also the loss of experience. I think that part is underrated.
But other things I can think of is how it limited our options, since it took up one of three available subs, and threw everything into disarray just 11 minutes into the game. I think there’s been another similar game this season where an early injury just messed up the gameplay?
EDIT: Just realised we could have made more subs. I’m rather disappointed we didn’t.
In terms of saving legs for the gruelling remaining season? Yes. In terms of the performance by itself? I’d be worried if he wasn’t absolutely livid with that.
I haven’t read a single post itt yet.
Is the bed-wetting as absurd as I’m picturing in my head?
Yes.
Can we just pretend the match didn’t happen and there’s only the one domestic cup competition this season ?
I may be in the minority, but I’m glad that we didn’t put much into this game. Couldn’t care less, there are too many competitions in English football. Now the media can stop puking their ‘going for the quad’ nonsense.
Normally Quansah is on the bench if its Virgil or Konate goes on so its like for like.
I don’t think he’ll be content at all, but I don’t think he’ll be fuming.
If we went further in the competition, I think it’s likely that we’d still rotate a lot, so it’s not going to put too much extra minutes on. The impact on training schedules would probably be a bigger influence on our other competitions than the game itself.
It was a hard game, and there’s really no reason to be too upset with performances in general, given that it’s a ragtag team thrown together from players who don’t get much game time, and players who are being eased back in after injury, that was hit by an early injury to a senior player.
There are some who might be disappointed in their individual performances, but on the whole, I think Arne would focus mainly on what should have been improved, rather than seething at what was probably, honestly, what we should have expected.
I don’t think he underestimated the opponents at all, I think it’s more the case that our options were more limited here.
worser
No! You should read the posts!
Free Saturdays. But not a great day.
Please have a topline summary on my desk within the hour.
Only things I’m annoyed at are the Gomez injury and Ngumoha not getting a run off the bench.
Great.
We’re a laughing stock and the BBC saw fit to announce the result as a BREAKING NEWS alert.
Also don’t forget we had 2 debutants today. Only the second start for Nyoni too.
Is it confirmed Gomez is injured ?
That’s a pisstake, and I’d be saying this even if it was United losing to a 11th tier side.
Random games that aren’t finals have no business being “breaking news”.
Gutted. This is the FA cup. Fuck people who don’t give a shit. I bloody well do. I don’t mind losing but we were piss poor today. Deserved what we got. I only hope this attitude doesn’t derail our season.
