Post match: PSG v Liverpool (UCL 5/3/25 8pm)

Not much point trying to make any sense out of that.

Possibly the greatest display by a Liverpool goalkeeper I’ve ever seen in over 50 years watching.

Subs were all brilliant. Of the starters I was pleased for Trent, I don’t rate him defensively but he was very good tonight.

For all PSG’s pressure I felt we’d keep them out after an hour and from the odd attack we managed to put together it looks to me like they can be got at.

Bigger game at the weekend, hope that didn’t take too much out of the legs but as others have said we seem to perform better with a short turnaround.

Slot is right there mentioning the 4 moves we should have done better to shut the TNT lot.

We were dominated first half and then 2nd half it was more a case of them banging their heads against a brick wall while we played possum and waited for counter opportunities.

I love performances like that. This Liverpool team is so versatile, can play any style.

Yeah second half bar the first ten seemed far more even for me. Subs helped a lot.

Alisson has told TNT that was the best performance of his life.

edit
Arne Slot on Alisson

“I don’t think I’ve worked with a GK at this level. Which is normal, he is the best goalkeeper in the world.” (TNT)

It’s not as if i’ll get to sleep anyway. Might as well call in sick and postpone a couple of meetings to evening time.

Full credit to Nunez for fighting for the ball before laying it off to Elliot

I think they had one good chance in the second half

Nunez was slightly unlucky to not score as well. Donnarumma had a fumble before. Some bit of fortune of where the ball lands and Nunez could have had his goal too.

Yup. It’s why I don’t think we should massively switch around for Saturday.

Great performances all around. :+1::nerd_face:

There’s no way Jota and Diaz should both be starting against Souuthampton. Even get in Chiesa a game for Mo if need be. We aren’t out of trouble yet. PSG will be dangerous at anfield.
