The whole covid situation is asking serious questions about the integrity of the competition. Some teams get the advantage from postponements, others do not meet the threshold and have to continue.
Perhaps the worst part of this is the instability it creates wrt decision making and game planning…
Frankly a farce of a game. I get frustrated with VAR in that it isn’t consistent between games but in the same game? Is it incompetence or simply bent?
This was not our best performance. For a team who are good on the break we left Alisson exposed far too often. I can forgive his mistake for the second Spurs goal because he saved us on so many other occasions.
I’ve heard Tierney’s explanation for not giving a penalty for the foul on Jota. Apparently he stopped suddenly to cause a collision. I mean my primary school teacher always said she had eyes on the back of her head but now it’s an apparent fucking thing. What utter fucking bollocks. Who was on VAR and who was their mate on the betting ring in Hong Kong?
I was always in favour of VAR because it meant getting decisions right. Don’t these pricks realise that we can see the footage as well?
Yet so many fans get up in arms in games like this that we just sit back and accept being on the wrong end of wild tackles. Robbo decided to leave one on one of their players because that was the how the game was being played, and despite staying on his feet and not showing his studs (i.e. no real prospect of injury for their player…just a possibly sore one) he was punished in a way that players who launched themselves in from 15 feet away were not. Robbo had every expectation that even if he got it wrong he’d just get a telling off because that’s how the game was being played. For them at least.
It should also be pointed out the tackle by Winks on Keita in the lead up to their first goal was pretty similar to Kane’s. Had the ref been refereeing the game properly with respect to the reckless way they were launching themselves into challenges then Winks doesnt even make that challenge, and just as importantly, Naby doesnt go into it with half an eye on being kicked out of the game himself.
I guess the difference is ref’s equalize talent discrepancies by allowing the lesser side more leeway as a means of helping them compete.
The strongest league in the world is being officiated by the weakest collective refereeing body. This has been pointed out before by many but it is a truism nonetheless. The joke is that these ‘jokers’ are actually being paid to do a professional job i.e. by definition a referee is there to make unbiased decisions according to the rules of football. This clearly is not happening in the premiership. Consistently.
Just finished watching the match. Kane should have seen red. Jota should have been a penalty. Tierney awful. VAR not fit for purpose. We had almost everything go against us today. Best defender gone. Whole midfield gone. Spurs fresh as daisies after a nice winter break with some purposeful training in there too.
On the plus side it was a hard won point. Unjust and unfair circumstances, but the lads battled hard and got a point.
Man City seem to be skating by, as though covid ain’t no thing. They have so much money that they probably paid it off so it doesn’t come their way.
Tierney was crap. The worst of it is that he won’t communicate with Klopp either. It is arrogant and aloof. The best refs talk.
Not that it will happen. But if it did, how many referees would need to be kept off our matches before it became fucking obvious these cunts are shafting us time and again?
They kept Coote away for a full year after he did us at Goodison last season then sneaked him back for a low profile Carabao game at Preston. Still hasn’t done a PL game for 14 months. Atkinson should have been nowhere near our games for years. Same with Anthony fucking ‘I didn’t see it’ Taylor. Kavanagh, on VAR today, is another manc cheat.
These twats are all massive stink-of-shite elephants in the room and it’s high time someone senior at the club, someone like John Henry, exposed them for what they are. Enough is enough.
