Slot: “Overall, we had good control over the game. Six games unbeaten, four wins and two draws. We are definitely not perfect yet but both of our number nines scored. Again, positives to take from the game.”
The 17 minutes after the sending off upto half-time we ambled around and put Spurs under no pressure. If you still believe we should be cautious we might as well give up the season.
to be honest theres truth in that statement.
i think the issue is the nature of our control and the quality of the opposition.
we seem afraid to unleash ourselves under Slot, even including last season…
and you too ![]()
Totally disagree.
You can see quite clearly that in the last six games, in response to the soft early goals we were conceding, there has been a deliberate reconfiguration to tighten at the back, and not give away cheap goals.
Rebuilding after poor form by tightening at the back is pretty standard.
Why are you here? What do you want?
Let’s see what results we get in the next 3 matches, 27th December (Wolves), 1st Jan (leeds) and 4th Jan (fulham) and then think about where we are.
It starts off fairly standard, but with Ibou back there, it quickly turns into an adventure.
A long time.
yeah, no arguement there, and i think the first half we did well in that regard, problem though is that doesnt account for when we are in possesion and trying to dictate a game.
thats my point, im not saying its not going to be hard, im not saying its an irrelevant point, what i am saying though, is that its not an excuse for what we just witnessed when in possession, especially in the final third.
besides all that. the best way to ease those defensive tensions is to be more effective in attack, we are so ponderous that it invites teams to set up against us for the overturn phase.
dunno, lot to think on, overall theres a few hand picked positives from that game, the three points being the obvious, but scratch the surface and theres a lot to still be concerned about. alot.
we are now in late december after the form dip started in October…we cant keep clinging to this almost…what…‘baby steps’ additude to progressing out of the form slump.
I want Klopp back.
And to see the last 10 years of this club again.
Not now @The-AllMightyReds . He won’t come back. We can’t force Jurgen to come back.
If things really go back to worse, then I see Xabi Alonso as a better option.
And I want a blow job off Margot Robbie, but it’s not going to happen.
If the point of you being here, posting the same one line bullshit over and over again is that you want Klopp back, you are wasting everyone’s time, including your own.
And the irony is that had you been here during any of Klopp’s rough spells, you’d have wanted him sacked too. That’s just the kind of lad you are.
I have to say I found it boring but I do think there is an overreaction. However our inability to see games out is becoming nauseating it’s something that’s been around for a while mind.
Of course Klopp’s record against teams with 10 men wasn’t too good. But he is a better manager for a lot of other reasons.
It’s not just about results though. We should piss all those games , but probably won’t. What we want to see is some joined up football , good game management and cool heads. That just seems to have completely gone out of the window now , and , for me , the obvious place to look is at the manager. If he can’t get such a talented squad playing some decent football soon then he’s a dead man walking.
Sorry, I meant slot talking shite. Ha ha.
I hear you, Arne is not getting the best of the whole team and his tactical plan is abit disorganised and incoherant, but sacking Arne now rather than the end of the season is not a good idea in my opinion.
