This was the first match back with fans since his transfer
Apart from that mind-blowing miss, Jota was okayish. At least he put in the effort and was threatening, which is more than can be said about Mane. Invisible for the most of the game and wasteful on the rare occassions that he was involved. He got better towards the end but he too missed a sitter by badly miscontrolling that wonderful lobbed pass by Salah.
Lately, he has looked closer to last year’s Mane than the Mane who was genuinely challenging Salah as the team’s best player from two seasons ago.
Despite the criticisms of some of our players, despite the Jota misses, despite the poorer performances we won.
The steam rolling of United and Everton spoilt us, we will not win all games like that.
Also, the doom mongering post West Ham is now contextualised.
I don’t know why the Wolves fans were giving Jota such a hard time yesterday. As far as I’m aware, he didn’t agitate for a move, when he joined us, so it was completely different to the way Sterling and Coutinho left Liverpool. It definitely affected his game, he was desperate to score a goal, to shut them up.
Someone on here was in contact with him months ago and said he was taking a break.
I missed this one but hopefully will get an opportunity to see a rediffusion.
At the time of Divocks goal I was being accused of being rascist by a lovely client, shocked I was as there was for me no context. He then told me I should travel the world saying he lives in Nice (puke) and has been to Marseille, Avignon, Toulon, Montpellier … so I quitely added that I had been to the depths of the world Oyannax that shut him up.
I know I/m stating the obvious but I must get this off my chest that Chris Kavanagh is an arrogant despicable sorry excuse for a referee.
Can you name me one that isn’t other than Jonathan Moss who’s just fat?
I thought that was a decent performance against such a well organised defensive minded team. Obviously we should have had it sown up earlier with some good chances missed but at the end of the day we got the 3 points we deserved. A solid team performance with no outstanding player . Divock did his job well. Nice to see him score again. He does seem to come good when it matters.
I can name you two, Michael Oliver and Craig Pawson, good solid referee’s who are not there to fuck us.
Micheal Oliver is at least arrogant Pawson some what better however they aren’t refs who go out of their way to fuck us over, i agree.
Liverpool have scored 13 game-winning goals in the 90th minute or later in the Premier League under Jürgen Klopp, four more than any other side in the competition since the German arrived.
That goalie needs his shorts to be baggier!
A bit of a new thing. Southampton regularly boo players we bought from them (even Ox got some boos the other day ffs). They seem to get the shits when in reality those players would be stuck in upper midtable at best if they remained in the long term.
Not at all, chauvanism is part and parcel of supporting football clubs as far as I’m aware.
Wolves are well known for this particularly if they feel a player could have offered them a few more years. Let’s not forget they aren’t in a particularly good place at the moment and some of the players, like Jota, would certainly make a difference for them now if still there.
There was a comical game at St James’ park a few years back. We had a number of ex Newcastle players who were all getting booed, and I think Henderson and Downing were playing too so they got it as well. Almost literally half the team getting it. Could you really be arsed doing that?
Let’s not get too holier than thou. It’s not like we haven’t given the likes of Sterling and Coutinho a hard time ourselves. It’s part and parcel of the game and always has been.

Liverpool fans only give a hard time to those who leave in acrimonious circumstances but tend to give a warm reception to most ex players. Plus, I don’t think Coutinho got it too badly anyway.
Other clubs will boo literally every ex player. Newcastle fans boo Milner
Newcastle fans boo Milner
I guess Newcastle fans only drink coffee??
