Pre and In Match | Everton vs Liverpool | PL Match Day 6 | Saturday 12:30 | Goodison

true… but he also understands the masters he serves…they aint gonna open their wallets. FSG still living off the VVD, Allison & Salah purchases

It is a lack of desire, it’s playing with no fire in your belly and no fight in your heart… It’s someone going through the motions, doing the minimum.

Stick someone like Suarez in that position, he’d be busting a gut to get a shot off. That guy was next level desire.

You mean when we were regularly leaving out other first-team players?

Again, Milly is now a starter because injuries have put us at the very bottom of the depth chart. Shit, we’ve been putting 2 keepers on the bench prior to Matip and Jota returning from injury.

Ox also got 30 odd appearances last year so the idea he wasnt healthy or used last season is not right.

Exactly this. Our most consistant scorer. Doing more in helping out the defence in counters than making a run in the channels.

Is positioned on the touchline, chalk on boots in old parlance. In days past, people would complain him shootong too much. Now it’s the opposite problem.

No i mean when AOC was on the bench or not making the squad at all when healthy

Yes, but with the likes of injury prone players we had in our squad, it’s not the first time we have seen this. Which is why I feel it’s not something that you would not have foreseen at all while you planned. I can completely understand the season when we lost all our CBs to freak injuries, but this one is difficult to digest.

he was rarely used in the later part of the season. he hardly played… thus the threat of wanting to leave so he could get game time

Well, it seems we are willing to extend’s milner deal but what is stopping us from going into the loan market earlier?

I think it is 50:50. Klopp being too loyal to his players and FSG not taking more risks in the transfer market. There were bargains to be had had we acted sooner and swiftly in the transfer market. Matheus Nunes went to wolves, Paqueta went to West Ham for goodness sake! Are you telling me that Liverpool couldn’t have those players if they showed ambition in the market?

And he is consistently shit and has been finished since his second major knee injury after a promising initial period with us, we have not, and will not, see anything more from him.

We havent won them on the cheap. Look at our wage bill. With caveats that City probably still hide a lot of it and its notoriously difficult to report on accurately, we’re still right at the top of the pack with only Utd notably bigger than ours, because theirs is bigger than everyones, which itself is a problem

Too many new tactical changes in this game. We set up after the HT like a side two goals down with 10 minutes to play. Trent was average going forward, but his defensive game was good. Milner coming on and making a mess of it meant Klopp had to make another change to correct that.

Darwin should’ve done more with that hanging ball chance too. Three times hitting the woodwrok feels like that Kenny season with Suarez.

I know im ranting, but fuck it, its 2am here… saying we have too many midfield players while counting on AOC, milly and naby is jus fools gold

At the time of those transfers, Henderson was still fit. If one of them had been high on our list, we would’ve been in for them anyway (just as we swooped for Diaz when Spurs got serious); they clearly weren’t seen as worth it.

The more I look at our midfield predicament, the more I’m inclined to believe that we already have Bellingham in the bag.

They have potential which Klopp can certainly work with. It doesn’t have to be a 100 million quid signing.

you mean this?

We gave up a lot of control in the midfield starting with two young attack-minded players alongside Fabinho. And Everton put a lot into the game and were 50% better than any other game they’ve played this season.

On our side it’s not quite clicking. We huffed and puffed and had plenty of good moments, with Pickford making lots of saves and the post and bar denying us too.

We will improve and go on a run, but it looks to me like we are rejigging the team a bit, and it will take half a step backwards before kicking on again.

Still early days but it feels like a top four season rather than close title challenging one, certainly so far.
