Pre and In Match | Liverpool vs Crystal Palace | PL Match Day 2 | Monday August 15th 20:00h | Anfield

I bet he isn’t in the 2nd half…

Fair enough, you are right about that. Because Palace won’t have many of those, they expect to be under pressure after all, so yeah, we should be better prepared for their counter attacks, I agree.

HT 0-1:

This isn’t our day. The team looks unhinged, the approach game is ok, but in the last thirty yards, our game is far too lame. Result: almost zero clear-cut chances for us until the last minute and that shot on the post. But it’s really not enough, CP won’t believe their luck how easy it is for them so far. And on their only chance, they managed to score. Well done to them. But our lads were far too easily unsettled after the opener.

Our lads really need to find second gear, or we lose this. Hopefully Klopp will find the right words, maybe make a change or two, and brings them to compete during the second half.

A foul for us? A pen? What are you drinking.

Guaita three mins of injury, then each restart from him, where they set up to kick it short, but 100% then send the defenders up the field, eats up them seconds. Yet it didn’t add anything tot the injury time.

So much for clamping down on keepers messing about.

an overwhelmingly underwhelming half…

My 21-0 prediction is going to have to be revised. 6-1, miserable!

Dear football god,

If you don’t mind, we need just a little bit of luck. Could you do that for us now?

Thanks

Nat is a big worry, surely the ginger monster is better than him.

Elliott has been excellent so far.

Save by Ali…on Zaha…then Zaha tries to indicate a pen…get up n play u whinger…

Get Phillips and Fabinho off for players who can move quicker than an ice age.

Should be winning this comfortably but our finishing has been shite. Hope for better this half.

Once Tsimikas is fit, Robbo needs a spell on the bench and should be made to earn his spot back. Woefully inaccurate in very simple situations and it just isnt good enough.

I think it was Kenny’s last full season it felt like we hit the post more than we scored. I said this to myself all season long, that we would get back in the CL race if we just scored those ones we keep hitting the post with and then just never did.

So is VVD seems scared of his own shadow since the end of last season.

Tired

It feels very frustrating. How many times have we dominated possession to concede on the break.?

Also frustrating that I’m watching in Liverpool at my mother’s house and had to set up a VPN to Italy of all places so I can use my Sky Deutschland subscription (bloody Brexit again).

I’ve seen us pull these back but we need to concentrate.

This has nothing to do with bad luck tonight. The result is a bit sucker-punchy, but not illogical at all for now.

It’s just all the injuries which are breaking us at the moment. In that sense, we could use some luck indeed!

I do get the whole not-capitalized “god,” but you are asking Him (or maybe Her?) for something.

Palace beat City away every year. They are no mugs

My take on the half is that we’re doing nearly everything right and we’ve been really unlucky. Absolutely dominated play, but got hit with a classic sucker punch. We need to be more composed in front of their defence and pick our moments.

Harvey, again, the stand out for us.
