To be fair, Gomez needs help that side, TAA is nowhere to be found and teams are targeting that side now not jus villa. TAA needs to defend first thats his job…

Time for a trademark Klopp hairdryer treatment. That game is so open that you get the feeling that we can come back, but not with such a defensive display, never in thousand years.
Sort the issues at the back, and then look to score one or two and see if Villa can go full throttle over the full 90 minutes.
Until now, Villa deserve their lead, and it could even be worse, had Barclay not squandered two 100% chances.

I just dont get it, we are amazing against Arsenal in the press and pressures and its none existent tonight… Is it Fabinho in midfield? He certainly isn’t charging out to help Trent like Hendo would be.

We have been torn apart by wild hounds. There is no escaping that. We have played fairly well offensively at times, looked like we would score. However, in transition they have mangled us, it has been violent, their attacks just destroying our back line, who could not in any way cope with the Villa attacks.
I believe we will see a very different Liverpool next half. Unfortunately, getting a victory out of this even if we win the second half, will be very tough. It is looking grim even for a point. If we are to win this, we need to play at our maximum potential and even then we may need events to go our way.

Gomez played their players onside for atleast one of the goals you could argue for both if you take into account Barkleys run which led to the corner… Failed to track the runner for the second goal. He runs thinking he is Usain Bolt and he simply isn’t as he was easily outpaced. First was Adrian’s mistake and Gomez should have atleast tried to close in on Grealish after that stupid pass from Adrian rather than tracking back and doing nothing. Gomez is Eric Bailey in Liverpool shirt.

We gifted them a goal and they got a deflection. They also scored two excellent goals.
It’s pretty clear that Diogo isn’t on the same wavelength as the rest of the squad. It will take a bit.

Probably the worst half of football I have seen from this team, Adrian set the tone for the night with an incredibly stupid howler with Gomez acting as his hype man.
Not sure what has happened to Firmino, hasn’t looked a shade of himself for a while now, some of his casual passing can be frustrating to watch.
Can’t be bothered to speak on the rest, just a car crash.

I would get Firmino off at half, no need to give him another 10 minutes. Not sure what that will help. I sure wish we had options of 5 subs, because I can definitely think of more than 3 I’d like to change on the day.
