I think this is a wakeup call. If you thought Gomez would be good enough, you’re sorely mistaken. Trent needs to take 50 laps for this debacle and work exclusively on his positioning in between now and the next match.

So dissapointing but our level over the last 2 years has been exceptional. I suppose a couple off days in 2 years aint too bad.

Stevies last game for us against Stoke. That felt worst.

Grasping at straws but I’d rather lose 7-2 away than, say, 5-2 or 6-1 at home.
From early on we were a step slow, like a side can look in pre-season when playing too soon after a hard training session. The yellow Virgil picked up on barkley is a textbook example. I wonder if there hasnt been some sort of miscalculation in how to approach the training schedule with this oddly constructed season.
