I don’t want to overdo it, he wasn’t peak Maradonna or anything like that, but he made a decent contribution when he came on.
The thing was for about 10-15 minutes we looked strong in the second half (around the 70-80mins I think). I feel like he wants us to conserve energy and play the game in sections. I just think we aren’t good enough (familiar enough) yet to be able to switch this on and off at will - I think we perhaps need to revert to ‘winning the game’ (aka intensity high) until we score then going into conserving energy mode but perhaps Slot feels we’ll adjust soon enough. Being able to power up/down at will would certainly help in terms of the CL/second half of the season
Isak will fo great mate. The problem is Macca, Wirtz, Bradley and Kerkez. Bradley has been poor compared to Trent, Kerkez hasn’t matched Robertson/Tsmikas who is so underrated. I love him. Wirtz is no where near Diaz as of now. Nunez was better if you ask me.
Salah cleared Dom’s goalbound effort then almost had Chiesa’s ruled off for a ridiculous hand ball. He did more defending for the opposition than attacking for us today.

If anything the Palace man was pulling Salah down it could have been a penalty.
Sorry but that’s crazy. Wirtz hasn’t ‘worked’ so far but you can see he’s got everything and I feel its as much about the others getting onto his wavelength (and perhaps him being a bit more assertive/aggressive and fitter) that is necessary. The skill is nothing like Nunez!
wirtz just doesnt fit our system - he just floats about not doing much.
Its the reason we improved when we moved Phil on during Klopps time - we brought in machines to dominate the middle.
Pressure to be started has already happened sticking him on the left because he isn’t performing in midfield.

Exactly Kerkez is 21or22. He is class and is already keeping Robbo out of the team.
Isak will have to learn pretty quickly if he wants to score goals for this team then he’ll have to create 80% of them for himself.
For me the only way to adapt Wirtz is to play diamond and play isak and Salah uptop.
That way your best 3 pressing midfield still stays in the game and Wirtz has a free role in between the lines.
Sozbo needs to be RB because Bradley and Frimpong are nowhere near good enough
I think it will just take time. He was specifically bought for our system and the player and coach but know what is needed. I think we’ll see how good he is and by the end of the season it’ll be wow, just like Grav needed some time to adjust.
I said in the summer it was an unneeded signing but was wildly laughed at by the know it alls. No goals no assists so far is atrocious for the money anyone else at another team and we would be laughing our nuts off.
