Pre Match | Everton vs. Liverpool | PL Matchday 5 | Saturday October 17th 12:30h | Goodison Park

The bitters have been framing clippings with league standings. They are on cloud nine and are chomping at the bit. Exploit their over-confidence and bring them down to earth with a thud.

Whatever happens, I don’t want to see another toothless anemic performance against these away from home. Play with intensity, play with purpose and we’ll be fine.

If it ends 0-0 it would be the first time in English top flight history that a fixture has ended with the same result four times in a row.

Lump on.

These quotes are really interesting. Klopp always uses to talk at face value, he doesn’t play mind games with other managers. As he knows what he’s talking about, that means that we’ll see Everton in the group of top teams in this league for the whole season.

This is a really interesting evolution for them, their fans must be pinching themselves! Obviously, it will be a very, very hard match for our lads, especially on the back of the Villa game.

If we can take the three points from this game, it will be a huge statement of intent and a real shout out to the rest of the league. If the contrary happens, Everton will be contenders for the title this season, it’s as simple as that.

What’s the team news? I guess Keita is the only absentee along with AOC?

However, since most of the players have played on Wednesday and some of them having trans Atlantic flights, the fatigue level may not be too encouraging.

I’m not sure Keita is a great loss really. He just never seems to be a 90 minute footballer. Went missing too many times over his stay. A few good spells but not enough.

Another Keita masterclass incoming :+1:

This is where no fans sucks and why im struggling to muster any real interest in football at the moment. Havent missed it at all the last few weeks.
With the bitters top and us get fucking smashed in our last game, Goodison should be a cauldron of noise and this should be a great game - but it will just feel like they all do - a friendly.
No atmosphere really fucks this game up but I think we bounce back and win 1-3.

Thanks for posting, I have fond memories of that game. Don’t think that footage really captured how well our inside left played that day - I’ve forgotten his name. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: :scream_cat: :ghost:

I just want to see us control a game again. If it’s another end to end free-for-all like Villa, we’ll lose. If Thiago is fit I want him starting. Someone who can pass the bloody ball to a red shirt. Henderson on the pitch to give us the leadership we were sadly lacking in the Villa debacle.

JK’s words about Ancelotti don’t surprise me. Class manager who is wasted at the Ev, but will do a good job there. This will be tough. No doubt. We will need a 100% improvement from the last game if we’re to get a result.

Put this on the wall of the dressing room, Jurgen.

I’d rather have Origi than Richarlison.

"Based on the 20/21 season so far…"

Oh dear, the effort they had to do to make this ‘combined’ stuff relevant :joy:
